What day and time did you dive it? We were there around 1:30 on Sunday and had a great dive. We figured slack was at 2:30 on Sunday but when we got there it looked slack so we just went in. Nice pictures. Hi Jeff, We arrived at about 10 AM on Saturday, and some friends were just finishing their div...

Great pics! What's the depth of the wreck? The top of the stern section is only about 75' deep with the bottom around 120'. The bow is a bit deeper, more like 100' on top to 140' in the mud. The wreck is laying on its Starboard side and has collapsed and twisted in the middle, which can make naviga...

Great pics! I love the wolfeel. Viz looks amazing. What kind of bottom time did you get? Air or mix? Hi Nailer, We were running bottom times of about 35 minutes and breathing old mix that was topped off with Nitrox to something resembling 28/15. Deco on Oxygen and relatively short surface intervals...

Wreck of the Diamond Knot
We had exceptionally calm conditions this weekend along with very mild currents in the Straits of Juan de Fuca. This allowed us to get in four marvelous dives on one of my favorite wrecks, the Diamond Knot. Visibility approached 80' at times (I had to keep checking the water temperature to make sure...

I spotted something in the tail end on the starboard side in the fuselage -- two T-bottles, presumably two oxygen tanks. I wonder if those are still pressurized. If so, it's kind of sobering that they'be been sitting there for fifty years in that state... I wonder if/when they'll blow up. Hi Peo, T...

Hi Valerie, I don't have an instructor recommendation (all of my contacts are in Mexico), but I am really glad to hear that you are planning on taking a Cavern Course. Cavern was truly the best dive training I ever had. It improved my diving more than all my other classes combined. Good Luck in Flor...

Lake Washington P4Y
Thanks for all of the positive comments. John, I'm going to have a hard time remembering to "drop" the "B". PB4Y just sort of rolls off of the tongue like Peanut Butter and Jelly... :smt032 Curt, Viz was an amazing 20-25'. Every dive I've done previously has been "dive by br...

Diving Lake Washington
Wow, what a glorious day for diving. The weather was beautiful, and the vizibility at the bottom of the lake was just awesome. We put the new boat in Lake Washington and managed to locate the PB4Y Privateer and the YMS-359. We had a nice dive on the PB4Y and even managed to take a few photos. What a...

I've heard several 'I'll shoot myself before I ever go diving here again' kind of reports from this site. Muck dive? Moon snails and the striped nudi you shot are on sandy / mucky bottoms typically... Any structure at all? Yea I'd do it again - but with DPVs. One of the barges still had quite a bit...

Dive Boat for Sale
The boat has been SOLD. Thanks for looking. The boat is a 15.5ft Polaris Rigid Hull Inflatable. It was originally over-built for the Candian Fisheries Department, then hauled down I-5 and turned into an awesome dive boat. The boat will easily accomodate 4 divers with gear (even with doubles) and has...

Like I say CCR is not for everyone, and CCR's don't kill divers, divers kill divers. Hi Matt, Playing a bit of the Devil's Advocate here (as I'm still blowing bubbles despite the allure of a CCR). I disagree with the statement that CCR's don't kill divers. A malfunctioning CCR will certainly kill a...

A water snake would be cool. I'm not sure I'd want to see a crock!Curt McNamee wrote: At one of the caves entrances, we saw a water snake and was told there was a 4 ft long crock somewere in there also.
I did get to see a blind cave eelone time, which was very unusual.

Actually, the donotcall web site is legit, and is a good idea for your home phone number. The releasing of cell phone numbers to telemarketers is an urban legend.
KomoTV did a story about it last night as well.

After years of hard work, they finally connected my two favorite cave systems in January. It's going to be tough referrring to Na Hoch as Sac Aktun, but that is what it will be called. Both cave systems are very similar, with very white walls and formations (hence the name - white cave). For those o...
