Thanks. I don't think they were the highest resolution, I think they were taken at the fine level, there is still superfine above that. I'll have to try out that cloudy manual setting. I'm not sure what size I used, I'll have to check. Is there a recommended resolution and size? I need to get some p...

TC, You need to do your advanced class if you're gonna keep diving at Mukilteo. Vis in the upper ranges is often bad, but if you drop down underneath that it opens right up. Tonight it was below about 20 fsw that it opened up. Kwbyron and I dove the clay walls and had 30+ foot vis at the wall. A gre...

After much research here and on other sites, I wound up with a Canon SD550 and canon housing. First dive will be this evening and hopefully I'll be able to post some pics to show how it works out! Thanks everybody.

All right Doug, I'm going to Mukilteo park today to test out your vis theory. I have my new camera with me and I'm hoping for some nice pics, you better be right about this vis thing...... :smt064

Yesterday afternoon at Mukilteo T-dock the vis was a few feet until you got below 45-50fsw, then it opened up to maybe 20'. A lot of life in the water though. I was surprised my the amount of barnicals growing on the geodome already, and some BIG jellies.

Let's hope you're right. \:D/

Don't get me wrong, it's not that she's certain I'm going to die, or even really has an issue with me diving, it's more that if I think something is so dangerous that I need her standing around with a phone ready to call 911, she'd rather I didn't do that activity at all. Which is is why I'm no long...

A couple hours on the shore beats all that will need to be taken care of for the funeral?????
Popi your wife must be far more understanding than mine. That kind of comment would probably lead to me coming home and finding all my dive gear sold off....... :pale:

On the plus side this means we'll be able to dive the drydock again right?

Although in 5 years there may not be much left of it to dive.

I like the concepts of surface / shore support, It does make a dive more comfortable knowing someone is there. My wife is usually not interested in hanging out for the hour or hour and a half {From gear up time to being back in the truck at the end of the dive}.I've never really put it to her as a ...

It's a little deeper than that. At low tide you're looking at 65-70 fsw on a day with low tide. There's not much to see but sand above that. Are you planning to do your AOW soon?

We generally don't use a flag. I do usually launch an SMB before we come up into the shallows, though sometimes I wonder if that's not more of an atractive nuisance than a warning to boaters. (Inviting the, "Gee I should check that out." response.) ](*,) Vis was quite good, lots of Jellies...

The tides look good. Not much wind from where I sit up in Everett. Where are you diving? We're hitting the Park at 4:15 or so.... Maybe see ya there.

Kevin, In actuality you are improving the dive site. By taking the beach home, you are decreasing any potential surface swimming, and for that I thank you. I always have my 5 gallon bucket o' weights. It would work well for removing the sand, but Bob's right, using fresh water to wash with would hel...

Anybody dive a Nikon? My father in law is a semi-pro photographer, and has been pushing Nikon. I kind of like the looks of a slim little coolpix camera in a fantasea housing. Anybody use one?
