Sounds good, I'll try to get there ASAP (about 3:30). 1st dive (I'm assuming is at Picnic Point).

Re: MMM 4/12/10 - Picnic Point?
Forgot to ask. What time do we meet up at for PP and Silver Cloud?
If everything goes according to plan, I should be in the area around 15:00 - 16:00
Sherpa, oops, that what my wife calls me!

Thanks for the replies.
I'll plan on meeting you folks at PP and Silver Cloud for a dive(s).
Regarding the current, I'm coming to the conclusion that current swept places are better to dive than non current due to what critters setup shop there. Much better photo shots.

Re: MMM 4/12/10 - Picnic Point?
nwbrewer,
I'm new here. I've found Picnic Point, but where is Silver Cloud located? I'm planning on traveling to Anacortes on Monday, I might be able to work in a couple of dives with the group.
Question, how current intensive is Picnic Point and Silver Cloud?
Thanks,
Jeff

Welcome Mongo, I live in North Portland (basically on the Columbia river) and travel to Hood Canal, South Puget Sound, and Anacortes (where we have a sailboat) on a regular basis. Keep an eye on the dive planning sub forums for others planning dive trips. Is your wife interested in diving? My spouse...

Bob,
Can you provide more information on the dry suits, such as material, number of dives on them, and prices?

Steve,
I'm up here in Portland too. I often travel to the south sound and hood canal for dives. Drop a line when your wanting another dive.

Re: Diving anywhere April 10-12
Looks like the 12th is the best day for me. Long range weather forecast indicates next week the winds are supposed to moderate a little - so it's good time to install the rolling furler on the sailboat. I'm planning to travel from Portland to Anacortes on Monday. Anyone up for a dive on Monday mid d...

Check with the park ranger that the gate is open to the North Beach lot, it could be closed this time of year. That is not a deal killer, at least in the past they have made special arrangements to have it open for divers. You diving Wed or Thursday? I'm tempted. Its the best shore dive in Washingt...

Vis on the north wall was outstanding 30 - 40 feet :supz: due to a week of rain and other factors limiting plankton formation. This was the first time I saw a sea squirt, a school of pile perch, school of copper rock fish, Big daddy ling cod - about 3 feet long, and :fish: grand daddy wolf eel. :mer...

Rooinater,
I can meet you at Alki, or Alki pipeline, say sometime between 12:00 noon and 1:00 PM. Would that work out for you? It's a new place for both of us.

diver hickery I purchased the SeaLife DC1000 Elite setup. It comes with camera, housing, wide angle lens, and external strobe in a nice carrying case with all of the accessories that one would need - all for about $850. Probably not the best camera, but by far not the worst either. It's operation is...

This year we will finish 99 percent of the sailboat's refit - after that it's get out and enjoy sailing and scuba diving from the boat.

Yep, I've had it since I could remember - as early as the age of five! Caffeine, stress, anxiety, and non steroidal anti inflammatory (motrin) make it worse. I can usually have some background noise (white noise) going and I don't notice it. I go to be with the radio on 20 min sleep setting. Diving ...
