Lots of sunshine and smooth waters today on Hood Canal. On the way down the rope - Dale and I had our first encounter of the day - a 3 foot wolf eel was hanging on part of the rope. He was quite friendly and swam around me before taking off and going deeper. The bloom was thick between 15 feet and 4...

I went on Saturday night (5/2/15) and it was about 10 feet and did not really clear up much, even at 80 feet. I walked down to the fishing pier last night - and if anything, the bloom looks thicker yet at the surface.

I was totally surprised to see a PSL this time of year. It was 70 feet deep, just North of the bottle field.

Did a dive at Keystone on Friday and then went on Saturday night at Redondo. The viz at Keystone was a good 20 feet - nice to be able to see what is in front of you! Redondo was limited viz - even down to 85 feet. However - lots of critters to see and enjoy.

Viz was down from last week's diving at Flagpole. Still had 20 feet. Found the first albus dendronotus of the Spring Season. Also - found a warbonnet in the cloud sponges at Flagpole (not pictured).
