Re: BP&W advice needed

I am 6' 7'' 300. I dive ow depths only and wear a semi dri suit. I use al80 singles. I got a dive rite bp/w called voyagerpac. It lifts 35 lbs if i remember correctly. I got size xxl. You might be xl. I dive with around 40 lbs of weight. 15 of which i integrated into the harness. The bc is a fully a...

Re: Octo/BC combo air supply

While yes, if money was no object i certainly would try the dive rite integrated air supply. I really appreciate the replies, knowledge is always welcome. I am in no way discounting the advice on this forum, challenging it at times? certainly! In my line of work I am taught to question everything an...

Re: Octo/BC combo air supply

Yeah for sure. Part of every pre dive is going over emergency procedures. i may never get this air supply due to funds...i have no doubt that dive rite's integrated air supply would provide plenty of air though. They are a top notch brand in my opinion.

Re: WTB backplate and single tank wing

Check out dive rite. I love my wing and harness! super tough and minimalist. Very easy to customize. Check them out. Divegearexpress.com. There are some on cl right now.

Josh at Tacoma scuba convinced me to buy it. So you can go there and talk to him about it as well.

Re: Octo/BC combo air supply

So....anyone here in favor of it? I dive a bc/w and my brand sells an integrated air supply designed for my bc for 99 bucks. I didn't see that before i posted. it is only 3 inches longer than my current bc inflator and it velcros to my shoulder harness keeping it streamlined and prevents it from han...

Re: Octo/BC combo air supply

You could: 1) keep your existing primary reg (that you are donating from your mouth already anyway). 2) Put your existing 2nd stage 'octo' on a 22" hose for about $21 including shipping http://www.piranhadivemfg.com/item/22-LP-Hose-139 3) Get 2ft of 1/8" bungie from West marine (I just li...

Re: Octo/BC combo air supply

I have the air2 on my bcd. Ive had it for about 8 yrs. It works, but I probably wouldnt go that way again. I did it for the same reasons you stated. However, it is kind of a pain to breath off of, and if you need to share a reg, you almost need to use one hand to just hold it in your mouth as the f...

Re: Octo/BC combo air supply

Thanks for the replies! Reasons: A) Delete the hanging Octo for more streamline and more efficient swimming. I like to cover lots of ground when i dive as well as dive in current sensitive areas. B) I can use exhale breaths to inflate my BC thus saving air and prolong my dive if i so choose. C) I fe...

Octo/BC combo air supply

I would like to delete my octo in place of a combo air supply that functions both as my BC infiltrator and octo. I did some searching on SCUBA (dot) com and they only had a couple options that were pretty spendy. I have a Dive Rite BC and the corrugated hose is kind of short, which would make using ...

I got Narc'd at 55fsw. I experienced vertigo, and a fantastic high! Took about half a min to get my head on straight. Was it similar to that? I realize that a shallow water narc may be very different than 110 ft one!

Another helpful tip is to roll your suit instead of hang or fold. Rolling minimizes creases and stretching.

Did u put ur weights on top of your suit by accident?

Re: WDFW GPO update: Seacrest Cove 1,2,3 now included in opt

Which is it? Octo's are in trouble and need to be protected or you see huge octo's and lings together at numerous already protected dive sites? the point is the lings eat the smaller octo's, not the big ones...those will die in a few months anyway! then it probably will eat its body.... Will those w...

Re: WDFW GPO update: Seacrest Cove 1,2,3 now included in opt

Couple that with the fact that Octo live for 3-5 years it really makes no sense what so ever to limit their harvest. If they were an animal that lived for 50 years then that might make a difference... If we want more octo in dive sites, open up ling fishing...That's the environmental factor that kee...

Re: Harper, Barbra G. (formerly fishing pier)

I will reformat my post when i am on a computer.

The first 50 yards there is no trace of the pier. Further out there is a lot of leftovers and i would say its even better than before! But i only swam over it....didn't get to explore.

Re: Keystone Jetty 5.19.2012

FYI, the ferry side of the jetty is not protected and can be fished. However you risk getting a ticket due to ferry traffic.
