Re: Treasure hunt??

I heard that the guy who won the cash had binoculars on the bluff. ALTHOUGH I CAN NOT CONFIRM. But he was in a team of 3, which gave them a better chance of finding it too. It was in roughly the same area as last year I hear. How about some originality and hiding it, like at 60 ft in the far corner ...

Re: NWDC does the Dive Expo - in pictures

I passed the darn booth like 4 times and never saw it till Waynne told me where it was. I guess I was too distracted by the dive with sharks booth, cuz I remember seeing it.

Hey Phil! Nice to see you stopped dragging your feet and got on the board. Sorry I'm so busy with school and work nowadays, but thanks so much for fanatically diving with me this Winter. Oh and sorry I kept loosing you at the expo :queenliz:

Re: David Doubilet @ Wa. Center For Performing arts March 29

I was wearing my NWDC shirt but we were one of the first there and first ones to leave. The seats were deceivingly not comfy. Least fav shot was the one with the feet in the sand, ugh, even more I hate nail polish! Favorite shots would have to be the lone shark with the purple sky in the background....

I'm going to be there but I'm looking for a place to crash so I won't have to drive back and forth from Olympia. Planning on coming up early on Friday to play around and miss rush hour traffic.

Re: Club dive! Club dive! Club dive! March 5, Sund Rock!

Limited parking is an understatement! Figure 10ish depending on car size in the lot itself, and maybe 8-10 up top if people are crafty with where they park. Sounds like lots of folk will be staying in hotels so carpooling amongs y'all shouldn't be hard. OF COURSE Waynne has to man the shop on Saturd...

I'm constantly told of the Octo and wolfeels everyone finds at 150... 130 is my comfy go to max depth, I usually have no desire to go below that.

The Good the Bad and Ugly dives of Feb 2011

Waynne, my regular db Phil and I dove Octohole on Monday. It was an awesome dive that was badly needed.....prior dives included: Failure #1 What was supposed to be the Epic of all Epic dives: Bandito, Dalco Wall night dive! I was given shit for not wanting to go deeper than 130. I was paired with so...

Re: Pacific Red Octopus

Howdy TJ, Hope the site treats you well with your studies. Like I mentioned to you on the phone, some people don't even know the difference between a small gpo and a red octo, I didn't at first. You could post the distinguishing characteristics if distinguishing between species is important to your ...

What kinda fish is this?!?!?

Very curious of this fishy found by Katie Downs off Ruston Way today. My dive buddy Phill actually shot this picture since it was a bottle collection dive and didn't bring my camera. Looked like a cod/shark mutant. Side of the poor fella was injured, and viz was cloudy cuz we were collectin treasure...

It's already down there! Coulda been put in better from the pics I've seen. Probabbly gonna get wrecked in the current BUT it is Sunnyside and I'd go check it out, I think it could be a cool place for grunts and octos to hide.

Looks like a tripping hazard! But if it were posable and you could put things in its arms; that be one bad ass display in the dive shop.
Man cave!? Where's that?
Poor thang.

12-29-2010 Salter's Point dive: 2 hrs into ebb tide, little current. Looked crystal clear on the surface. Creepy haunted feeling dive. First time at this site didn't help me relax either. 3-10 ft viz Saw schools of perch, variety of different stars. No rock fish. One flat fish and 2 sturgeon poacher...
