Re: Anyone Using a FFM?
Thanks for the info/opinions, after all considered, I decided to not go with the FFM and am going to use the money I saved on a canister light instead... seems like a much better investment for our waters.

Re: Life of a Drysuit
My - The Inflator valve has been serviced by me 3 times in 4 years (after it stuck once) So, If you look after your suit, go easy on zipper and wax it after dives and rinse your suit out and service the valves.. I would say that if you dive 50-100 times per year, a DUI suit could last you 7-10 year...

Canister lights...
I am wanting to upgrade from my regular hand held light to one of the canister style lights.
I have never used one of these before and was wondering what the best wattage to get for diving locally?
Any suggested brands/models?

Re: Anyone Using a FFM?
I think I am going to pass on the comm's, and have narrowed my search down to the OTS Guardian and the Ocean Reef Neptune G. Divers masks. I've found local shops that sell FFM's, but none that rent them or have demo models. Mancub has hooked me up with someone who has given a lot of info regarding t...

Has anyone dove Fort Worden State Park?
I am going camping in Ford Worden State Park in August, and was wondering if anyone has dove the park before? I camped up there a couple of years ago with family and we took the kids to the aquarium on the pier and there were camera feeds below the aquarium, so it seems like there would be a fair am...

Re: Anyone Using a FFM?
I've been thinking about getting one for three main reasons, 1-communication, 2-the ability to breathe through my nose and 3- having that little bit of extra warmth having a fully dry face.

Anyone Using a FFM?
I am looking into getting a full face mask, anyone using them? Any brand/models to stay away from? I'm looking into the Ocean Reef Neptune G Diver mask. Anyone using communication sets? One person told me the receiver head piece can't be used with a hood? Anyone know of a local place that rents full...

Re: Dental Work
I asked my dentist's office, and they said I would be good to go.. but sometimes you never know if the dentist knows about diving issues. One time I asked about checking fillings for cracks or damage, as I had been told to be sure to ask your dentist to double check dental work, so pressurized air a...

Dental Work
Turns out I have to get a filling on one of my back teeth on Saturday, I was planning on a dive on Monday... does anyone know if this will cause an issue with a new filling? Anyone know of any minimum amount of time between new dental work and diving that has been set?

Current Time Adjustment
A long time ago I found a site that had listings for dive sites recommending tide/current stations to use and the appropriate time adjustment based on the distance from those stations.
I have since lost that site, does it ring a bell for anyone? If not anyone have anything similar they use?
Thanks

Re: Nitrogen Enriched
I was at Costco and noticed they had a "Nitrogen filling station" for car tires. Seemed pretty odd to me... What benefit could filling your tires with pure nitrogen have? Seeing how air is generally 79% nitrogen, could removing that other 21% of oxygen/trace gases really make a difference ...

Saltwater/Freshwater Question
Random question regarding freshwater vs. saltwater... I know that there is a buoyancy difference when diving freshwater vs. saltwater, since saltwater has all the dissolved minerals. My question is does that affect atmosphere levels? Whenever I read about atmosphere levels, I always see 33 FSW, 66 F...

Re: Mystery tumor fish??
That Moori looks like a match, thanks.
The one I saw in the tank was more purple than that with a larger growth over the head. As I am newer to the critter ID stuff, are differences like that indications of male vs. female, or wild vs. captive life, or everyone just looks a little different??
