Read them both. I would recommend them to anyone.

Nice pictures! Did you get the DC500 with the strobe? Thats the one I have and it is posotively buoyant or I should say the strobe is. The camera and housing are negative, it doesn't float until you attach the strobe. I use a 1lb seasoft ankle weight wrapped around the arm of the strobe, works great...

Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
I guess I can give this a shot.... My wife and I went to Playa Del Carmen the first week of December. It was awesome, my first trip to Mexico. The saltwater dives were like diving in a warm bathtub, amazing. We stayed at one of those all incusives just South of Playa. Here are few of my photos: [img...

High Pressure versus Low Pressure
I'm in the market for a new set of tanks. I have searched the forums and haven't found an answer for this question. Besides size and weight why would I want one or the other. What are the reasons I would use to decide one veresus the other? Size and weight are not an issue, I just want more gas. For...

I also use the DC500 and had a similiar problem. I took it to the UWS in Everett and the tried the Firmware thing which did not work. They also replaced the battery with no help. Ultimately it was sent back to the manufacturer and replaced with a brand new one. The manufacturer said it had to do wit...

The tug was very cool. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but it's well maintained and the inside is in great shape. The boat is called the MV Songhee, check out http://www.songhee.ca, thats the boat owners website and it is leased to BC pacific Dreams for the Port Hardy dive season. Chris ...

It's the same place, the tug was anchored at the dock near the cabins. The cabins are owned and operated by a friend of the company I was with. They share the cove and dock space and operate on opposite weekends, someting like that. A friend of mine dove with them here a week or so ago, I can get mo...

Jana, I stayed and dove with these folks in May of '06. The name of the outfit is called BC Pacific Dreams. It's not a floating lodge but a 95ft converted tug boat moored in Clam Cove. The accomidations were very nice for a boat, the food was first class and the diving was the best I've ever done. Y...

I am going to Playa Del Carmen in December. I think Playa is about half way between Cancun and Tulum. We're staying at the Barcelo Maya All Inclusive about 20 minutes south of Playa. I haven't stayed there but have several good friends who have and they say it's top notch. I have a line on a good di...

I would definately be interested in the sausage if you make a group purchase of those. As for the O2 Kit, since I am primarily a boat diver I would rather have the larger O2 Bottle that John mentioned. 15 minutes vs. 40 minutes, I am seldom with 15 minutes of anything in the islands. If we can get a...

I have my PADI AOW and am enrolled in a Rescue Diver class for September working toward my Master Diver. I have my own boat and seldom if ever do shore dives. I don't make ...
