I had suggested an escalator or at least a hoist, but the idea didn't get far! I was getting ready to request the Dive Butler be present for Redo...

Since I dabbed a tiny bit of silicone grease on the shutter switch (inside the housing) I've not had a problem at all.Grateful Diver wrote:I've been getting good results with the Oly SP-350 ... not to happy with the chronic sticking shutter problems on the housing, though.

I like something small and ergonomic for underwater, as well as the ability to access all of the camera functions from the housing. Which camera/housing you choose is kind of individual. My hands are smaller so I don't have trouble with the buttons, but some folks with larger hands find a smaller ho...

Kevin Sorry the last week or so has been so traumatic for you. Those kinds of memories can really stab you in the heart. Hang in there. I've been slugging along in the ER, as usual, and we've seen a lot of fallout from the storm too, including CO exposures, many older folks who ran out of home O2 be...

I'm heading out of town for the Christmas weekend (in about two hours, to be exact) but once the holidays are over I'll look at my schedule and talk with GD to see what we can come up with. Is there anything specific you are looking for? A more advanced kind of CPR (professional level, covering 2 pe...

Some cameras have a small weight you can buy as an accessory, usually screws into the hole in the bottom. Alternatively, you could wrap a small tank or ankle weight around the strobe handle and that would work just as well. Welcome to the wonderful addiction, I mean, er, world, of underwater photogr...

Haven't been to FIR before but I was at Cocoview (right next door) in October and had a fabulous time. Take some Skin So Soft for the bugs (or something). There are lots of no seeums, but not particularly worse than anyplace else I've been. Water temps were consistently in the lower 80's, they might...

Lost
A friend of mine lost his dive computer, mask and compass at Redondo on Tuesday night (Dec 12). He thinks he left it on top of the trash can by the rinse hoses. It was an Aeris Atmos 2 computer, Aeris puck compass (bungee), and a black X-vision mask. If anyone has picked it up or found it please PM ...

What is the difference from a free diving professional winning and a scuba professional... I know last year there were TONS of instructors entering the diving portion; I guess I don't understand the difference. I could be wrong here, but I'm thinking the difference is that a Professional Freediver ...
