Re: For those who can't make the August 5th Deep Sea dives..
We have a few spots open on our monthly San Juans dive this Sunday, August 6th. We're doing 3 tanks with a departure time of 8am I believe. Sites are Davidson Rock (my favorite!), Williamson, and Sares Head. If anyone's interested send me a pm for details. Brian Always a fun time, but I'm getting a...

I'm pretty much with Brian on this one (can you tell we had some of the same instructor trainers?) Descents while facing each other are particularly important ... too many recreational divers split up on the descent, which means that if one of you has a problem on the descent (a place where problems...

Yes, I think I-Beams and Olive's Den in Cove 2 are best chances. Want to take a picture, but don't want to tick them off. I know GD took video, but is that because a flash is a bad idea or what? No ... it's because I had the wrong camera for still photography in dark, murky waters. He didn't seem t...

Sekiu/Neah Bay
Got in my 1,500th dive this past week-end ... in Neah Bay. This was the annual Emerald Seas Dive Club trip. Cheng and I just went for the week-end, althoug some of the crew are still out there. We did two dives off of Porthole Charters, and two dives in Sekiu. Our original plan was to also do a dive...

Welcome to the wonderful world of scuba gear collecting ... it's a fun and interesting pastime. You'll know you're reached proficiency when you realize you need at least a two-car garage ... one side to hold your scuba gear, and the other side for the rest of your scuba gear ... ... Everyone is welcome ... and it does sound like there's gonna be a good turnout. Does anyone happen to have a digital projector I could borrow for the presentation? I was planning on doing this off my laptop, but I don't think everyone would be able to see it that way. Otherwise, I may just go rent o...

He found us, actually. We were at the I-beams ... had just passed six divers heading back in ... when he swam toward us from the deep end. Sixgills generally approach very slowly, get close enough for a good look, decide you're not very interesting (can't eat it, can't mate with it, the heck with it...

Bob - what did you use for light? Your HID? I can't even imagine seeing one (someday - crossing fingers)... is it something you ever get used to? Even when you've seen 100 6gills, it HAS to startle you when you first see one. They're BIG fish. Both of us had bigass honkin' HID lights ... we lit up ...

Not only did I not get to see the 6 gill, I didn't even get to see the video. Are you gonna post it somewhere Bob?! :smt051 If I can find somebody who knows what to do with an AVI file. I'd like to edit it somewhat ... the first 15 or 20 seconds are the shark, and the last 10 seconds or so are me t...

I dove at Mukilteo on Saturday in a 7mm wetsuit and was uncomfortably warm. I was unzipping, opening my hood, and taking my gloves off trying to cool off by letting water in. while you were diving??? if so, i'm guessing your internal heater works much better than mine! how's that for diplomatic? ;-...

Are you getting your Halcyon wing from 5th-Dimension in Issaquah? If not, you should go there and talk to Mark about them - he's one of the largest Halcyon dealers. Since his location is listed as Olympia, he's most likely dealing with Capital Divers. They'll take good care of him ... ... Bob (Grat...

A photoshow from tonight's dive ... max depth 111, bottom time 71 minutes.
First time I've ever seen a Dendronotis Iris nudibranch in Cove 2. Wonder what it's doing there ... hope it sticks around.
Enjoy the pics ... http://photoshow.comcast.net/watch/Bz8ig3wC
