Re: Steel 72's

I think 2 of them are going tomorrow. That will leave 5 but 2 of those are post valve with pipe thread for good or bad. None of the remaining ones are in hydro but I have been using 3 of them. Price? What am I offered? Got an old Oceanic puck style Nitrox computer? An HP100 or similar? Problem will ...

Re: Steel 72's

Well, I can't see myself using them anymore. I don't think I'll be doing the tech thing and also have a bunch of AL80's I use. So basically I'd like to get what is a good deal for someone and OK for me. Offers? Like I say I just hydroed 2 of them. None of them had been in hydro for years. One I've b...

Steel 72's

Hello all,
Is anyone still interested in steel 72's? I have 6 or 7 of them, most of which I have been using until recently. 2 were just hydroed. 2 have pipe thread post valves. I just bought into steel 100's so don't think I'll be using them. I'll be at Edmonds Thursday if anyone is interested.

Lost Coat

We were at Cove 2 much of Saturday 10-13-2012 and there was a coat left on the grass. Late in the afternoon we looked for ID and found insurance papers for a Kent Smith. We left the coat at the restaurant and I will be sending a letter to the address but if someone knows him the coat is there.

Need drysuit

Hello, We plan to be in the Seattle area Friday and Saturday and my wife needs a drysuit. Anybody got one for sale that is in great condition and would fit a lady 5' 6" and 155 lb with size 8 feet?

Thanks,

Re: Where to find lead for melting

I get mine from tire weights. Lots are steel and zinc now but should be cheap because they can't easily be sold for the lead. Check with tire stores.

Re: Gig Harbor air fills?

What is involved with providing compressed air? Hi, At the low end Jim Sheldon sells a great little compressor with filtration for about $2200 made from surplus stuff. New commercial run about $3000+. Then you need to watch the filtration. If you want to fill tanks fast it gets expensive fast. Brian

Re: Lost gear!

While you are looking remember to look for my black Seaquest pouch out at the end of the jetty! I enjoy reading the new posts every day and at some point my wife and I need to get across the pass and get to know some of you that I feel like I already know a little. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. Without any experience I wanted opinions that had experience behind them. Great to be able to get those.

O2 Sensor Error

Hello all, So I have a new to me oxygen analyzer with a new MAX-7 sensor. What kind of error should I expect at 100% O2 if I calibrate with air and what error might I expect with air if I calibrate with pure oxygen? If I calibrate with air, oxygen from my welding tank reads about 97%. If I calibrate...

Re: Risky Behavior

The other option to keep diving is warm water boat diving. I carry less than half the load in Mexico and they insist on taking the weights and BC into the boat before helping you out of the water. Its really tough.

Re: Whats a good fill?

LP tanks were always a challenge at my old shop because they'd come in very low, and the steel tanks seemed to heat up faster than the AL. I always thought this seemed strange (wouldn't steel, as a better conductor than AL, be better at conducting the heat away? Maybe it holds the heat better?) I u...

Lost weight pocket

Did a dive yesterday afternoon at Keystone. No viz but still better than working. Lost a weight pocket at the end of the jetty and didn't know why I couldn't get rid of enough air till I came up. It is a black Seaquest Sure-lock that apparently wasn't so sure. I'd be glad to buy it back if anyone fi...

Re: Truck advice

It is possible that the spark plug is being forced out by water but I doubt it. We have used the Time-sert system with good luck. The advice to keep it if you are happy with it and trade it if not is good advice. Get someone to pressurize the cooling system to see if you get water in the bad cylinde...

Re: Truck advice

The spark plug problem is fairly common on Fords. We can often repair them. There are kits that insert new threads.

Re: Whidbey Island

Would someone compare the July 13 Port Townsend current table against the Port Townsend Tide table on Mobile Geographics? Is it really possible that at 3:38PM there is high tide and 9 minutes before that is max ebb current?

Thanks,

Re: Whidbey Island

Thanks for the help. So would you use the Point Hudson current tables for Keystone? I would have looked at the Admiralty Head tables. If I'm reading right there is a large difference. I get so confused.

Whidbey Island

Hello all, I've enjoyed reading all the new forum posts for some time. Thanks for all the good info. My wife and I will be on Whidbey Island this weekend. Hope to dive on Friday and Saturday. Tides don't look great. Any good ideas on non current sensitive sites we can dive from shore? I hope to catc...
