Re: silicone seals for Fusion drysuit
I would check with 8 diving. They appear to be a sitech dealer, and have a good reputation for suit repair.

Re: Using a shop compressor for inflation testing
I like it. You actually don't need much pressure to find leaks. My current favorite method is taping an old dry glove that I cut a hole in to the end of a shopvac hose set to blow. Attach dryglove and hit the switch, suit is full in seconds!

Re: Night dive light
Either of those should be plenty bright enough. For Puget Sound I like a tight beam for signaling with a lot of spill out from the hotspot, both of those have a reflector, so they should be decent. I think I'd go with the DGX one if it was me, tighter beam, more battery options (18650's are in basic...

Throwing the valve in an ultrasonic cleaner with some white vinegar is your best bet to loosen that up. I would think your LDS could do that for you at the next VIP since they typically service the valves at VIP.

Re: Thursday 1/27 South sound? Hood canal?
Thanks Jess, my son wound up have a short day of school, so I took him out for a local dive. Not much to see but he got to scooter a bit! Maybe I'll be able to dive with you guys another day!

Re: Avelo Hydrotank system eliminates BCDs?
So, we're supposed to take a proven simple mechanical system, which has a manual backup, and replace that with electronically controlled system with no backup, no way to disconnect it while diving? I'll stick with my BCD thanks.

Re: BCD Recommendation
+ 1 for a backplate and wing. You gain 6lbs of weight for free on the plate, and lose all the excess buoyancy that a lot of vest BC's tend to have. A steel 80 is going to be about the same size as the al50, and allow her to shave off 5lbs or so of lead. (plus more air!) I'll also add that the weight...

Let's talk cuff dumps
I picked up a used suit for my son recently, and while it fits him pretty well, it's clearly cut for someone who is broader through the chest and shoulders than a 12 year old kid. The result is that the dump valve is more on his bicep than up in the outside of the shoulder where it should be, leadin...

Re: Help Request - Lake Washington
Hi Leslie, No problem asking for help here! Gasworks is unfortunately on Lake Union, not Lake Washington, and diving there is by special permit as far as I know. Also, you might take your number off the public post, if someone is able to help, then can PM you through the board and share contact info...

Looks like he was recovered.
Sad turn of events, I'm glad his family will get closure though.

Very generous offer!
I think this would fit my son really well, we're currently sacrificing on his undergarments to get him into his current suit. I'm pretty good at fixing/replacing seals.
Bonus, in a year when he outgrows it, I can pass it to Norris!

Re: Need a new drysuit recomendations
I opted to go with the Bare TECHDRY and it's on the way now! Switching from crushed neo to trilam has left me at an insulation deficit. What's your favorite undergarment? I prefer a 2 piece. I checked out the Hollis Undergarments, and while I like the look and construction, their sizing seems to be ...
