Re: Now for something completely different

The weekend of the 16th is a full moon. I haven't done the full moon thing at Clear Lake (changing out of my wetsuit in the parking lot doesn't count), but I hear it's spectacular. Just sayin'.

Re: Now for something completely different

More details: The dive is about a mile from the closest road. There's a gravel boat ramp, but I first found about this from a guy who gets there via kayak. The ramp is at the south end of the lake, and the outflow is close to the north end. There's also a campground at the north end accessible by bo...

Now for something completely different

Our local dive club visited Smith Reservoir, which is about 70 miles east of Eugene, along the McKenzie River. It's part of a hydroelectric project that works like this- water is diverted from the McKenzie into Carmen Reservoir, then it travels underground through a 2 mile long tunnel to Smith Reser...

Re: Coastal Dive June 22-23?

+1 on the offshore trip- I've dove off the Miss Raven before and it's worth the money. I also know my local club- Eugene Dive Club- is hosting a Portland group for some dives in the Florence area- you might be able to tag along with that...

South coast airfills?

We're planning some dive trips for the summer- any suggestions for airfills south of Florence?

Re: Looking for Pt. Townsend suggestions ...

On the way back from both of my Whidbey island trips my group dove the wreck of the Ranger, which is in the Boat Haven Marina:

It was a fun and easy dive with lots of life. Not sure how the big exchanges would affect it, though.

Cool- thanks. A bunch of us are going up to Whidbey for the weekend. Hopefully Keystone isn't too blown out.

Re: Think Pink! HPink that is...

My brother dives with one of the pink Princeton Tec dive lights- he's definitely more secure than the average male diver :) Around our Dive for a Cure weekend, he even sports fuzzy pink footed pajamas for an undergarment. Defintely get's some strange looks.

Re: Paulina Lake diving....

A bunch of us dove Paulina last October. Not much to see, but I'd like to go back some time to a different site. On that same weekend we did Blue Lake (also boring), Crescent (awesome dive because the Kokanee were spawning), and Waldo (spectacular viz).

Re: OPB Special on Diving Crater Lake!

Four of us dove Crater Lake last September, but we just did it from where the area where the boats dock at the end of the Cleetwood Trail. My understanding is that the tour boats will drop divers off on Wizard island, but your ride back depends on whether or not there's room on a later trip. Probabl...

Re: Roatan south shore photos

Nice- I had a great time there last year. Did you snorkle in the main cove in front of the resort? There was some a lot of life on the left side. A lot of people never bother, but it was a good way to kill time by keeping wet.

Howdy from the Eugene area

Hi there- I've been luking on this board for awhile; figured it was high time I signed up. I was OW certified last Halloween, and reached dive #90 over the weekend. Did a trip to Roatan right after OW, but everything else has been in the NW. I may have met some of you when my two brothers and I expe...
