Fantastic Vis at Sund Rock last sunday, combined with the low O2 event provided great photo opportunites. Will try to get some pics posted later.

They said they didnt see any GPO's, and one wolfie. Well.....We saw a total of 8 GPO, including 2 who were ...

Re: Viz Reports Thread

Redondo today, 9/11, about 15' at depth, hit bottlefield, then ended dive as my drysuit totally flooded. Even at 52 degree F, was still cold when it hit the crotch area.

Thanks all. It represents about 30 shots to get the one, fighting the rolling surge, holding on to a large bolder for dear life, but it was worth it!!!!!

Re: Manta Dive

It really is a great dive. I hate "canned" dives, and agreed to go on this for my dive buddy. It was really great! Dove with Jack's Dive Locker, with Keller Laros. Here is a pic I took:

My condolences also to the family, and friends. I hope and pray that if or when they read this post, they are able to realize this discussion is all between people who desire to understand what happened and at least for my self, apply lessons learned. Re: Dry suit undergarments....

Polar fleece here...and I usually get cold after 30-40 minutes in the winter. Saving my pennies for a couple nice Weezle Extremes. Wife also has polar fleece, she gets so cold that even pouring hot/warm water over her post dive she still cannot undo her weights, ect.

Re: What kind of dive computer do you use? and why?

Aeris Atmos AI for the last 6 years. Easy to read, easy to use, handles nitrox. It does seem a bit conservative, but Im ok with that. Wife has one too. Sorry to jump into the thread late...and damn, not sure I want to breath on AMPM air.

Titlow Beach 9-12-09

Ebb slack was at 6:50 pm, very small exchange.Arlene and I kicked out to the ledges, dropped down at 6:40, sun was about one hour from sunset. Vis wasnt so great, but not bad either...maybe 15' or so. I knew we would find some Octos home, from all the crab shell debris on their front porches! 4 octo...

Re: Another nice dive at Salt Water St Park

Great timing on your report, as we are considering spending a few days at Salt Creek next week and diving. Anything we need to know in advance that you can think of? Would welcome any input, as it will be the first time we have dove there.
Thanks in advance!!

Re: Diver Death at Redondo

Well put, Blacktoe....and great advice. This is one of the good reasons to discuss an incident like this. It is so tragic and unfortunate that this has happened; however, we all need to learn everything we can from it so this tragedy does not go in vain. Constructive input like this is vital to that...

Re: Diver Death at Redondo

The wife and I must have just left there, about 4:30, 4:40. There were several divers there today, vis was good below about 30 fsw. We had to cut our dive short due to free flow from the wife's regulator. Sorry to hear, our prayers to the family.
