Re: Columbia River Scuba Diving

I have never dove that end of the river, but I have dove the north end, because it is where I live. For us it is a place to train and practice, but not much else. Up on this end there is nothing to see but mud, stumps and rocks. In some places there are old foundations from the towns before Grand Co...

Full Face Masks

I know I have not posted in a while, life has been busy. I still lurk from time to time and we are getting to a point again where we will be doing more SCUBA. The wife and I just finished up our PSD course a short while back which included FFM. So instead of just doing the "class and getting th...

Re: 2016 Yakima Dive Club Promo Video

Thanks. I just spend half my life in Yakima so I thought it would be worth trying to find other divers there.

Re: AN/DP Class

Well who is coffered When is harder, still working on schedules but it looks like 3 weekends between April and June. Where probably a lot at Redondo, because my truck and trailer (all our gear and tanks) have easy parking there. Other sites as needed. While I understand what you are saying I still s...

Re: AN/DP Class

After lots of reading since becoming a diver we have no plans of dropping below 130' on air. Even CCR we do not plan on breaking the ~200' mark. It just seems there is a lot of stuff to see in the 150-200' range, both in the PWN and while traveling. The cost and weight (for my wife) of doing OC vs C...

Re: AN/DP Class

Makes sense. I guess I misspoke about it being a true pre-req, but more of a suggestion. When I originally got this information, about 2 years ago, it would have been from Mel who is TDI. I am aware different agencies have different requirements. I am ok with equivalent courses, it was just my under...

Re: AN/DP Class

Are you specifically looking for AN/DP or something comparable? AN/DP is a TDI/SDI specific progression, other agencies have their own unique names/step for roughly similar training depths. AN/DP by itself doesn't include any helium (something I would recommend, you're more narced than you realize ...

Re: AN/DP Class

Thanks for the hints. Again right now I big one is finding someone that can meet our time table. Mark I know you have done quite a bit and was hoping you would put in your info. I am sure it is. We are looking CCR in the next year or so. Had a little set back in our time frame with a remodel of our ...

Re: 2016 Yakima Dive Club Promo Video

Is their Facebook page actually active? I posted a question a couple months ago with no reply. I was going to try and make one of the meetings, but I am at work.

Trying to see if there is anywhere in Yakima worth diving.

AN/DP Class

Beth and I are looking at doing the Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedure class. I just emailed Mel Clark, but our schedules never quite seem to line up. I hear Randy Williams is also a good instructor. Are there any other recommendations? We are only have a short window, around the first week...

Sounds like a couple of these sites sounds like I just need to put my ATV in the trailer too and run the gear to the water that way.

Re: RE: Re: Trailer friendly dive sites

We took the motorcycles down to Saltwater last summer to check it out for a dive site. I could not figure out where to dive from. All we could see was a very large stretch of tidal plane that did not appear to ever get deep. surface swim to one of the three buoys, there are rock piles below them to...

Trailer friendly dive sites

When we make it over to the west side for diving we usually bring our "cargo" trailer as it houses all our gear, heater, wash down station, ect. We dive Redondo and Alki (if we get up early) a lot because there is easy parking. Not that these are bad spots, but we would like to explore som...

Re: Feeling Frustrated

Thanks for all the info. Well getting standard should be pretty easy. Dumping the set of double 100's with the sherwood and keeping the 2 sets of double 72's with Blue Steel. Wife will never be diving doubles. I like the 72's because they are about the same weight as a single HP-130, and I have redu...

Re: Feeling Frustrated

Well apparently the plugs I got were course thread not fine, go figure. Plus the Sherwood set does not even work that way...... apparently. I am just loading them all up and taking them over to Tacoma Scuba (need to call them tomorrow) and letting them service everything. I am frustrated and don't h...

Double 100's

Here is a pair of double 100's I bought a few years ago when I thought the wife and I would be diving doubles. Well even double 72's are too heavy for her so these are not getting used. These are labeled Sherwood and has a Sherwood 45* manifold with 7/8 threads. They were both born on 3-95, so I am ...
