Sweet. I've got a "Homer" bucket, but I'm digging the hefty bag lined "goody" bag! That will be easier to haul around then the buck will.

1 Cu/ft air will lift 64lbs in salt water. For every cu/ft of mass your object has, it weighs 64lbs less underwater (due to displacement of the 64lbs of water). For example a 128 lb object that displaces 1 cu/ft would require 1 cu/ft of air to lift it. But once you get it to th surface it will take...

Of course, a 55 gallon drum would but slightly awkard to swim with...

How much lift would a 5 gallon bucket have? Is there some general rule of thumb about X cu/ft of air (uncompressed) = X lbs. of lift?
