1 Cu/ft air will lift 64lbs in salt water. For every cu/ft of mass your object has, it weighs 64lbs less underwater (due to displacement of the 64lbs of water). How much lift would a 5 gallon bucket have? Is there some general rule of thumb about X cu/ft of air (uncompressed) = X lbs. of lift? :bounce:
