Redondo
I hadn't dove in the last 2 weekends, but was able to hit Redondo today. It was really a fun day. The viz was fantastic, at least 25 feet! The water was really clear with lots of ambient light, it was a cool 50 degrees. There were a bunch of classes being taught, but they did a really good job of no...

I don't think I would have taken the suit from the shop. What was he going to do mail you knee pads?

Recent Dive Pics
Today we dove Redondo. As we started down the slope I got really excited, the viz was really good until we hit abou 65 feet. We poked into the bottle field for a moment, but the viz was really bad at depth. The usual critters were out in the shallows. We found a baby Wolfie, a couple of grunts, and ...

Re: Need Help Choosing a Dryglove System
I am a big fan of the Viking System. The people I know that have issues with this system use cheap off brand gloves. The cheap gloves tear and pop off. About 6 years ago I bought 2 pairs of Viking gloves with the rings. The Viking gloves have a really large round lip that drops into the ring, pretty...

Re: Viz Reports Thread
Redondo was dark today. The first dive we had about 8 feet of viz, it was black at 30 feet. The second dive we had about 15 feet of viz, but more ambient light.

Re: Key Largo
What kind of shark is that? Looks like a Lemon or Silky?? That is a Caribbean Reef Shark. The reef Sharks were pretty good sized, in the six foot range. They were some of the biggest reef sharks that I have seen. The highlight if the trip was a dive that I had never done before, it was called Conch...

Key Largo
I spent a few days in Key Largo last week. The weather was perfect and the diving was great!! I dove with Ocean Divers, they are always a first class operation. IMG_8332.jpg IMG_8330.jpg The dives in the Key Largo area are very easy. They are shallow with very little current. The reefs drop down int...

Re: Flash Deflector
Great service from Ikelite!
Last week they sent me a part that was very close to what I needed, but it was the wrong piece. I called on Monday and the correct part was mailed to me. The part arrived today, 2 days later! Thank you Ikelite!!

I called ikelite this morning. They said that piece had no part number, that explains why I was having the problem finding it. It is now in the mail and should be here in a few days!Scubie Doo wrote:Bric, what housing do you have? I would call ikelite, they will overnight it to make your trip.

Re: Flash Deflector
Thanks! Ikelite is closed over the weekend. I will call them in the morning, I just thought I might get lucky here. The housing is for a Canon S95, It is the Ultracompact housing with a 3 inch port.Scubie Doo wrote:Bric, what housing do you have? I would call ikelite, they will overnight it to make your trip.

Flash Deflector
I lost the flash deflector for My Ikelite Ultracompact Camera Housing. It's a very inexpensive piece, but I am having trouble buying a new one.
Does anyone have one of these deflectors that they would be willing to sell? I have a trip coming and would be very greatful!

Re: Playa Del Carmen recommendations
Awesome. Thanks. I was also thinking about Cozumel... I also wanted to do the cenotes as well though. I'll check out those places out. Do you think the dive op is better than Scuba Club Cozumel? Let me know how it works out... I don't know how Aldora compares to Scuba Club Cozumel, but I have had a...

Re: Emergeny procedures at night
Why light in the left hand you ask? well, its not just so you can drive a scooter, or because someone arbitrarily says so, it's primarily in the left hand so you can readily hand off your primary regular in a case of need, whilst controlling said beam (as others already mentioned) so as to not blin...

Lynne was one of the nicest people in our dive community. She was always there to help a new diver, a great mentor to many, and always had a positive word or comment for everyone. Like all who were blessed to have known her I am broken hearted.
RIP.
