Thanks Dan. I think I got the holder and subsee diopters from reefnet.ca. They make them custom so you have to get a quote. I believe the holder was $250 and the diopter was $200. How many were in your group? We were up there the weekend previous and viz was incredible!!! Kirsten there were about 10 of us I think. Viz was not so great, we had a plankton bloom down to about 30 feet or so on most dives. A couple of days of sun the week prior to our visit really changed things....

I found this shrimp at Sechelt Inlet this past weekend. the water temp was a uniform 51 degrees during the whole dive, but it seemed that the affected sea stars were in the shallowest part of the wall, around 20 feet.

In the winter of 2015 the sand underneath the pilings was covered in mounds of barnacle shells. I know that barnacles molt, but it's pretty clear now that those creatures haven't returned.
