I've only had that happen with stuff that's left significantly longer. It's algae growth, and you don't want it. Do you leave the same soaking water in your second bathroom, or do you drain it after each soaking episode?

Bob, you really have an affinity for warbonnet portraits.

Love the tiny octopus in the bottle neck, too. You're the person I blame for my alcoholic-like habit of peering into every empty beer bottle in the bottom of Cove 2 . . .

I'd also be happy to go out with anybody who wants a companion to play with diving doubles. In a short time, we will have LP72s, LP85s and HP100s available to try. In my experience, unlike single tanks, doubles are somewhat diver-dependent. With a single tank, you can generally move it around, and m...

Oh, Randy, it must have been you guys that talked to Mike about the conditions on the ferry.

We were the divers that got spread out all over the place on the wall . . . What can you do, when one team goes north and the other goes south? :-)

It sure was a great day for diving those sites!

We saw one at Cove 2 last week, where I've never seen any before.

There were tons of them on the Possession Point ferry last Wednesday, but since I've only dived that once before, I can't say if that was something new.

Aaaaaggghhh!!! I was on the ferry Wednesday, too, and I didn't see him. And PSKCs are on my list of "must see" critters, too.

Oh, well. We had a fantastic dive anyway, including being entertained on deco by a very playful sea lion. But the crab would have been the icing on the cake.

I tried water in this one, and boy, is a drysuit full of water a PITA to manage. Unfortunately, it appears that at least some of the leaks in this suit are seam leaks that don't actually pass water until they're flexed in just the right way. So the suit will sit on the basement floor for days, full ...

Yes, that was the verdict of our exploration dive at Possession Point Beach -- Not much there. Too bad, because it's such a nice site, with parking, picnic tables, showers and a super easy entry. Oh well . . . What we should do with Jan's pages is make a website with all of them there, and you can d...

I agree -- the sandwiches at Bubbles are superb! I had forgotten about that; I was thinking more of dinner things. I've only eaten at the Thai place once, and it was rather late. They were not slow that night, and the food we had was good. Maybe it's spotty. I haven't been to the Cactus on Alki, but...

We did three days on the Diver's Choice boat in January. Aside from the fact that the diesels are a little smoky (which is only an issue if you have to ride on the aft deck), I have nothing but unstinting praise for the boat. It's spacious, you can gear up inside (which was key when the air temps we...

I've stopped referring to my Mobby's as a dry suit. It's my dampsuit. (She says, heading into the basement to put another layer of Aquaseal on the crotch leak that two shops over three separate trips have not been able to find).

We stopped at the Greek place, Kostas, on the way home from Mukilteo the other day. The food was great. I love Pegasus Pizza, especially their house special with the shredded pepperoni on it that crisps up in the oven. I'm not much for pepperoni normally, but that stuff is irresistable. The Greek sa...

I've also gotten some debris caught in my Sitech valve (after getting rolled in the surf at Monastery beach) which caused it to leak, but rinsing and soaking it eventually got rid of whatever was causing the problem.

So far, I have taken everything to Roy at Bubbles. He is meticulous and extremely knowledgeable, but not particularly fast. I do not know if he works on DiveRite regs, though. Mine are Scubapro, which is a brand that Bubbles sells, although I bought mine used. No static from Roy about that.

I've had no problems getting a full charge on my Salvo batteries. When they were brand new, I didn't get the advertised burn times, but after a month or so, they seemed to "break in", and I can now routinely do two full dives on a single 4.5A battery. I'm with BubbleMakr. I'd save my Salvo...

Current sensitive sites

It seems as though, this fall, we have a bunch of periods of REALLY nice tides, making trips to current-sensitive places very attractive. I've already done a couple of charters, but I'd like to expand my database of current-sensitive places you can shore dive. The ones I've done: Titlow, Day Island ...

ADM E-zine -- Eye candy plus!

A couple of weeks ago, I saw the notices about the inaugural issue of Advanced Diver Magazine. I kept trying to download it, but my elderly computer just doesn't seem to cope well with very big pdf files. Eventually, John Rawlings, was kind enough to send me the magazine on a CD, and I read it this ...
