If you just mean the egg cases, Jesse, here's a description from http://species-identification.org/species.php?species_group=sharks&id=298 Oviparous, laying a single egg per oviduct at a time; egg cases about 5 cm long and 2.5 wide, with long tendrils. Incubation period of eggs possibly about 1...

Re: Sund Rock - 11/12/16

I think Jesse has a new profile picture there! Great pictures from all... I actually spent Saturday out there, too, but on top of the water down at Hoodsport (a salmon tournament for Heroes On the Water). Just a little bit of weather to deal with in the kayak. I think y'all had a better time but it...

Re: Sunrise Beach 9/24 - Camera stealing GPO warning!

Great shots scubie. The warbonnet did hang out with you for a while. Nice angle on the scallop too! Thanks Stephen. I appreciate you showing me sunrise from shore :) I have several shots of that Warbonnet if you go to my gallery. But those are my three favorite. You diving on Thursday? That marker ...

Maybe I should take my flounder bait (turkey hot dogs) and chum the area for you so there'll be more photo ops :) :) :)

Thanks all :) they were a bit sportier on the line than your average flounder, rather fun actually... I ended up poking around later and kept finding interesting things about them :)

Any recent dogfish sharks?

Hi all, just a curiosity question... Last weekend I was out fishing in Henderson Bay for flounder, but I ended up catching (and releasing) three dogfish. All in the same area, maybe 50 ft or so depth. I searched the forum for dogfish reports and pictures, nothing too recent showed up, so I was just ...

Re: Out of the water almost 2 years, but alive!

Wow. I was out of the water for a couple of years myself, medical but a lot less severe and traumatic. Just last month I did a brief refresher dive here in the Sound, before a Cozumel cruise ship dive. I can say that the local dive, well it was kind of nerve-wracking and not the greatest. But the Co...

Re: Viz Reports Thread

Saturday 6/18, Kayak Point. Anything past arms length was just a blurry shape, maybe 10 ft below 30 ft depth.

Kayak point well, just needed to have a dive before our upcoming Cozumel cruise excursion. Haven't been underwater in a couple of years so somewhere easy was the goal.

Re: "Darpa Wants an Underwater GPS System"

True, there are bound to be techniques that will help, like GPS differential baselining. I guess my definition of "high-precision" (millimeters accuracy) might be a little high too... :) If a few meters accuracy is acceptable, then it would be a lot easier to achieve. Still harder to defin...
