I love the warm feeling of being able to drop some air from my BCD and add some to my drysuit. You have to carry enough lead to do that.

I'm with fmerkel on the drysuit and aluminum tanks. If you can't stay warm you won't dive. AL80's are for warm water divers. I did my certification dives 30 years ago using a back inflate BCD. Hi, Are the AL80's post 1990 and in hydro? If so I'd take them but we may have to go over logistics.

You need to do a weight check with a near empty tank. You will need 6 or 7 lb more when empty. There is about 5 or 6 lb difference between an AL80 and a 3442 steel.

Go to a dive shop and find a mask that fits. If they don't fit, go to another dive shop till you find one. That said I still like purge valves after more than 30 years.

We also live in Eastern Washington. I get tired of diving lakes pretty fast. We have found Hoodsport to be a great place because we can plan dive vacations based on when we can go without thinking about tides.
