After reading this thread, I bought the book on my last dive trip north. The instructions in the book seem very clear. Of course I won’t know how clear until I try to use one of my predictions. :book:

Re: COOOOOOLD river dive!

Wow 37-34 degrees. I was whining about doing drysuit drills in 39 degrees at Battle Ground lake this weekend. Oh and once we hit the muck on the bottom Vis was about 3". This river dive sounds interesting.

Thanks Janna,

When I contacted them they said they may have charters set up by spring. It sounds like there is a lot of interest in diving offshore.

If we are talking health risk sitting on the sofa watching sports is an extreme health risk due to the inactivity and associated health problems.

I want to know who carries these masks in stock so I can try one on. I like the idea but want to know the mask fits me.

Tragedy in Tillamook

Very little information but a tragedy non the less. I am sure we can all learn lessons as more information comes out. By Associated Press TILLAMOOK, Ore. (AP) — The US Coast Guard says a man diving alone in Tillamook Bay has been found dead. Petty Officer Kelly Parker said the man apparently was usi...

Re: Newport Dive shop and diving

I know a coastie at Garibaldi who dives there all the time. I have yet to dive with him but if he is not on duty I am sure he will dive with us or at the very least we should be able to get a detailed dive briefing from him. I also know someone who dives Netarts crabbing frequently.

Blackwater and I are talking about diving the sound on Feb 16th but I don’t see why a day trip to the coast on the 15th wouldn’t work also.

Re: Newport Dive shop and diving

I was thinking in spring or early summer when the visibility gets bad in the sound. I have heard that offshore may not have the same algae bloom problems. At least waiting until the shop has the dive charter thing worked out. That doesn’t mean we can’t just hop over the coast range to Garibaldi area...

Newport Dive shop and diving

I emailed the new dive shop in Newport Oregon. Howdy, We are really excited to have a dive shop at Newport again and we want to support our local coast dive shop. Some friends and I from Portland would be interested in diving at the Central Oregon Coast. The only place I have dove is the fingers an...

Re: What are your big dive plans for the long weekend?

Thanks Bob, We only have two tanks apiece so we are planning two day dives, go eat and fill tanks, then back for a night dive. One of our divers is new so we are not planning to do anything extreme. We just want to keep him close keep an eye on him and get him some more water time. Salty's is out of...

Re: What are your big dive plans for the long weekend?

Friday - night drive to Seattle. Saturday - do three dives at Redondo or TTN (never been to eather but the Redondo map looks self explanatory) Sunday – two dives in or north of Seattle area then drive home. It figures the weekend I pick to drive north and dive Grateful Diver comes south to give what...
