Cove 2 after dark, #360video
This is a really quick stitch/edit of our dive at Cove 2 with the Samsung Gear 360 in a home-brew housing utilizing two of the Telesin 'replacement' Dome Ports and an interface ring made from Acrylic Cake rounds from Tap Plastic. (If i can do it, anyone can!) I'm pleased with what i could see so far...

Samsung Gear 360 goes underwater
Still working on it, but some first look screen grabs from my little frankenhousing for the Samsung Gear 360. This is the little observation dock out by Salty's on Alki, shot whilst doing the 10' pressure test on the housing. The 30' pressure test did not go so well, but have gone back to a gasket s...

Re: 360 screen grab from Salt Creek
Conditions were outstanding weather and swell wise, the river discharge made the west side tannic and low vis but the north east side was very good. The kelp is scenesing and no bait fish school, typical winter diving out there, but to me it was worth snorkeling for sure since I was already in neigh...

Re: Weights Minimum
yup, agree with ballpark 35 to start, probably drop down to somewhere between 30-33lbs with a jacket BCD and Aluminum tank, depending on your body composition. You'll be heavy at start of dive but as Mike says, the buoyancy shift from slurping down a tank needs to be taken into account. Personally I...

Re: Waterproof Drysuits for Puget Sound Diving?
The D7 is a solid suit. (And i'm a huge DUI fan so that is saying something that i can see past my bias and say that <grin>) I got hands on a few of them several months ago to do pee valve installations for a project and they are a very robust suit, the manufacture looked good. They are a heavy suit...

The owner of ? The owner of DUI did not shift over to USIA. (at least not that I know of, and it seems somewhat unlikely, stranger things have happened, but this is how weird rumors get started so please be clear)rcontrera wrote:Ah ... a she was it! Then, that was most likely the owner.

No shrimp seen at Cove 1 yesterday on the reef or near the storm drain or in the debris trail. Usually they are lined up in the nooks and crannies.

Re: Leptasterias at junkyard
There are a number of young Spiny Pink Stars out there, and this guy really doesn't look anything like them in person. I highly recommend interested folks taking a swim out there and visiting them in person, as these photos and video bits don't do them justice. There are a few, and they are along th...

#360vr Alki Junkyard Scootering
This was a difficult stitch, after this dive i've switched to a carbon fiber pole because PVC had too much flex for scootering with 7 camera assembly. even with stabilization in post this makes for some stitch inconsistencies. Please watch in highest resolution for best experience. the primary stitc...

Re: Heater vest canister info
longevity can be impacted if you don't have a low voltage cutoff built into the system (either on the battery side or the heater side), as heater vests can and will deep discharge a pack. Many light packs don't have that as they are essentially system limited by the needs of the light head (HID's an...

Re: Drysuit hoods
I find the K0-1 Spyder ridiculously warm, even warmer than my 10/5 from Waterproof. I actually can't really wear it right now because it's too warm with the lingering layer of warm summer water. So yes, I still love my waterproof 10/5, but as soon as the water has cooled off I'll be back in my K0-1....
