Re: DAN might not be what you think it is...

I have a dumb question about this... I thought i was reading that the dive accident has to be more than 50 miles away from your residence. So if you are diving locally (ie less than 50 miles from home) and you incur an injury/accident...then it wouldn't cover you. Right? :dontknow: You have to be 5...

Re: DAN might not be what you think it is...

While I feel Mattley's aggravation... and I'm sorry his drysuit won't get paid for... but diving without DAN insurance makes little sense. Maybe their policiies about where the dive begins and ends is utter crap... I can't imagine paying for a chamber ride. I don't just say that because the closest...

Re: Redondo looks like a dumping ground

This thread cites a few studies on PVC leaching into water: http://www.gardenerscorner.org/subject076618.htm Well poop! My husband and I just spent all day Saturday replacing what I thought was PVC waterlines for my mom (with more what I thought was PVC waterlines. 74 feet of ditch digging, gravel ...

Re: Redondo looks like a dumping ground

Good God.....the phrases "stick up your **" and "massive baby fit" have no place on NW Dive Club when those phrases are directed at any individual (I'll leave it up to you to see if they can be used appropriately in some other context). Yet, despite the locking and subsequent un...

Re: Redondo looks like a dumping ground

Thanks for unlocking this thread mods.... It started out as "dammit, stop polluting a dive site" and degenerated to " you are a bastard and deserve to lick your own balls in prison" But aside from some of this :penelope: , it has turned into a discussion that I found interesting....

Re: Who's going to the Dive Expo/Treasure Hunt?

Funkydiver and I will be there Saturday. We were going to do the treasure hunt...but heard it is a tankload of divers....and with funkydiver being a newer diver, not really something I wanted to subject him too (silt-ups, racing to find the hidden stuff etc). And we would need to stay the night Satt...

US Bank is offering one of those "apply now" specials that allows you to get a $400 ticket right off the bat. You earn miles towards the cost of any ticket...from any carrier. And US Bank told me last month (I haven't checked their website to verify) that any baggage fees you pay, they wou...

Nothing as cool (?) that has already been posted here. Having to bag a body in a river and was still in full rigor (ie stiff). He was face down in the water, elbows on the surface (flat out) and hands pointing toward the bottom of the river. I was given the "head" and someone else took the...

We looked into this for a few months but darn, we should have asked here too! We just got the Alaska Airlines card about 3 months ago. Yea, it is BOFA...but everyone has something against some bank (my beef is with BofA & usbank...but the mles/card works out for us). There is an annual fee of $7...

Re: Drysuit gloves

You CAN rig this system to maintain the inner seal, but I think most of us doing no-deco dives with this system just take the risk of the suit flood for the comfort of not having to deal with wrist seals. People intentionally rig their suits to remove/not deal with wrist seals? I knew zip seals did...

Drysuit gloves

When talking to Seven Seas yesterday about drysuits, I also checked with them about their drygloves. The system they sell was pretty interesting (to me) in that you are not supposed to leave the cuff (system?) in the suit. You take it off between days of diving to keep the gasket from being damaged/...
