so my thoughts on PNW diving: - its cold, dress appropriately - its more stressful, bring more gas - its dark, bring some good lights - its murky, bring a compass - its independent diving without a dm, -- bring good basic skills -- bring good buddy skills -- bring good dive planning -- bring good g...

As much as I hesitate to say anything about this accident, other than offering my condolences to the family and friends of Chad, I cannot conceive of a single scenario in which this instructor could be considered to have been conducting anything but the most reckless and unacceptable dive practices...

Well- I don't know how to explain it, I just use my BC is all there is to it. This is funny to me, because you're the guy who showed me how to use my drysuit, this last summer- and you explained to me that you used it for buoyancy, which I had also read in the PADI AOW book- that first dive was the ...

That was a great dive. Thanks, guys. Great pics, as usual, Calvin! That was the most colorfull octo I've ever seen, the only skate I've ever seen at cove duece, and just a whole lot of fun. We had a buddy telling us that there were 4 foot waves down there tonight (there weren't), and we almost baile...

Bryan, (friend of Diver), thank you for posting here and telling us about your friend Chad. Let me second what Tom Nic wrote- he has quite eloquently stated what I would wish you to know as well. We are very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I am sorry if anything I wrote was hurtfull. We...

Another death at Lobstershop Wall, along with the several DCI hits people have had there lately worries me. My concern is that the city of Tacoma will step in and close the site to divers. What makes me so angry is the instructor leading the dive. He knew better. The instructor, had been in similar...

My o2 psi, Buddy check or not. A dive to 200 fsw is a serious dive! On twins or not, If it was really the case that these folks planned a dive to that depth. It is obvious that they were not experienced. I am not saying that the out come was deserved, but unavoidable.. Today I called a dive with a ...

Well, it's just more rumor, but someone I trust told me the group of divers was planing to go to 200, and that at least 1 of them was on an Aluminum 80- and that he was the one who ran out of air and bolted for the surface, and still hasn't been found. I don't know anything for sure, but, as I said,...
