Missile silo dive
We are doing the missile silo dive on Oct 19, http://underseaadventures.net/silo.htm Right now we have 4 divers, the min number needed. If one or two others would like to join this let me know and I will get you the details. One of the divers is coming from the west side so you might be able to car ...

Re: Weezle Drysuit Undergarments for Northwest Diving
I got an "Oxygen" set from John last year and love them. They make it real easy to stay warm on a dive. I still wear my Bare T-100 in the summer as the Weezle is too warm.

Re: Hogarthian Harness Straps vs...
GF and I started with the Dive Right style straps thinking they would be better. Of course we were new and it seemed to be a happy medium going from the Jackets we used in class and see "everyone" else using. After about 50 dives got set up with one HOG straps. There is no way you could ge...

Re: Wetsuit help
Thanks guys. Leisure Pro had a Bare 3/2 close out in my size so I got it coming. I know the guy I am going with says rash guard but I would rather bring a little extra and not need it vs having to try and find something while I am there.

Re: Lake Keechelus
Well I am in the process of buying a 25' pontoon boat. Not as cool as a scooter but hoping to put a decent electronics package on it. Should be able to get a team of divers anywhere on a lake and maybe find something worth diving on. I am saving up for a Cuda though. Just scored a deal on them throu...

Re: Lake Keechelus
Not expecting to see much in the way of life. There are lots (hundreds) of large stumps that have had their root systems washed out. Think it might be a fun thing to see while diving.

Re: Lake Keechelus
Sounds like a great plan. Problem is the water is down now so all the stumps are exposed. I am guessing in the spring the vis would suck due to lots of run off. In the winter it would be an ice penetration dive.
So when would the best time to try be? I am game.

Lake Keechelus
Has anyone every dove this lake? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keechelus_Lake I drive by here quite often and wonder if it would be any fun to dive. I am not sure what life is down there but probably little since it is fresh water. What I do see lots of is cool stumps and structure when the water is ...

Wetsuit help
So I am in need of a wetsuit for our up coming trip to Bonaire in November. According to the web it looks like water temps are generally between 81-83. So far the warmest water I have dove in was Hawaii which was 75* on one trip and 77* on another. I am generally a very warm person but the only expo...

Very good points camerone. You are right. We are not 'breathers yet, moving that way though. In the research phase still. Probably not next summer, but the spring/summer of 2015.

Re: Analyzers
Was just commenting that it was not dependent on AC as camerone said his is.
Was commenting that weight, size and function were both close enough for me that those were not a issue to decide between. The only issue was it worth keeping both around, both needing cells to keep them working.

All good points.
The Nuvair runs on batteries and is roughly 2x the size of the other, but still fairly compact.

Analyzers
So quite some time ago I had made a deal for a Nuvair trimx analyzer. Unit was "dead" when I went to pick it up. Shorty after I ended up picking up a Oxycheq O2 analyzer since right now we are only doing Nitrox. I just picked up a Nuvair trimix analyzer (since we are moving that way) the o...

Re: Long hose question.
I have read several discussions on that one. The major thing that seems to come up is the length of that mouth piece. I know we just did the rebreather demo day a while back and many of them had the seacure on them. It was no trouble for me, but I am a big guy. Sounds like the most common thing to d...

Re: River what????
This video makes me not feel so weird. There is a section of the Kettle River that we have floated for year. It is about 4 miles long. Last year, since it was the first time having scuba gear, we floated using our wet suites, snorkel and mask. Add a light weight belt so that you can actually dive do...

Welcome.
I started a site a few months ago to try and better detail the dive sites in our area. It is fire season right now so I have not had time to work on it much. http://scubadivesites.webs.com/

Local place in Yakima that does all the fire department hydros charges $20, just to give you a reference on price.

All great info and things I will look into. Not looking so much at a "cook book" but some of the how's and why's. Something to give me more background. Like one of the questions I have is how much deco do you are you obligated for after each min over NDL? I am sure it also has to do with d...

Re: Deco Diving
Well maybe my google-fu has been weak. The places I have seeing and reading seem to really skirt around details. There is a lot of talk about what it is but not how to actually do it or how it actually works. Most seem to come back and say "find and instructor". I will say I do understand ...

So I have been reading as much as I can about areas related to diving that we are considering. One area I seem to have trouble finding good information on is decompression diving. I am not planning on reading a book and heading out to do it. I would like to be able to read a book or web based facts ...

Great and semi amusing replies.
We have practiced catching quite a few while just on random dives. Hopefully that will help when time to get eaters
