Re: Alki Point Safe Streets debacle

I bicycled through there yesterday and saw the "Street Closed -- Local Traffic Only" sign. From my perspective, parking to use the park there is "local traffic" as opposed to "thru traffic" which would be just using the street to get from point A to point B. Is that not...

Re: Odd Request

How tall are you? I have a 59cm size frame road bike that is a touch small for me and I don't really need four bikes. It would probably fit someone between 5'11" and 6'2".

Re: Subsurface dive log software - Dive Site Sharing

Hi, The website is still available and I've been slowly adding new sites and new features to it as time permits. The url is https://www.scuba-sites.com . You can browse and search the public sites without creating an account, but if you want to register you can upload or create your own sites and ma...

Re: 40cf bare al 02 bottle

I'd suggest posting it on the "Rain City Scuba" group on Facebook. I think that gets a lot more visibility than this web site these days, especially among tech divers that may be interested in a deco bottle. I'd grab it myself, but there are too many other things higher on my list right no...

Want to Trade: XXL Hollis F1 fins for XL F1s or XXL Jet Fins

I have a pair of Hollis F1 in XXL that have just a little bit of side-to-side wiggle on my size 12 DUI rock boots. I'm looking to trade them for a pair of the same fins in XL. If you've got a pair of XLs that are a little too tight, let me know. I would also consider a trade for a pair of XXL ScubaP...

Re: Subsurface dive log software - Dive Site Sharing

You may want to take a look at Subsurface (http://subsurface-divelog.org). It runs on Mac, Windows or Linux desktops and there are Android and iOS apps available. Due to screen size limitations, the phone apps don't have all of the features of the desktop app (mostly the Deco Planning functions are ...

Like I posted on Facebook, I can dive a little earlier on Thursday if anyone is interested in doing a "pre-dive" before ThThTh. I'll need to be wrapped up about the time everyone else is arriving.

I don't know about Ms. GDog, but Ms. Orcas (who was with me in Monterey -- it would be weird if I was there with GDog's wife) loves cold water diving. Unfortunately she works until 7:30pm on Thursdays.

Re: Monterey, CA weekend

Tom, the boat charter was unguided (with a DM staying on the boat) unless you hired a guide. Given we had not dived any of the sites before, we decided to spend the money to hire a guide so we could hopefully go straight to the good stuff. I think it was worth the money in the end.

Re: Monterey, CA weekend

We hauled our drysuits down there. The water was actually a few degrees cooler than the current Puget Sound temps. All of the other customers were also in drysuits -- our guides, however, were both in wetsuits.

Monterey, CA weekend

My wife and I found ourselves with the opportunity to spend a long weekend in Monterey last weekend and decided to spend some of the time diving. We looked at the different options for shore diving and boat charters and ended up boat diving both Friday and Saturday with Sanctuary Charters. We had an...

8 Diving in Des Moines rents Santi E-Motion drysuits. Not sure if they have a special for longer term rentals or not.
