4 dives last Thursday!
Rob, nice shot of the shrimp. Those are very difficult to shoot. Looks like your rig is working out!

Re: Fox Island - 3/3
Okay, Round 2! Mike, Rob, and I hit Fox Island for a little night diving on 3/8. I had to witness the Giant Nudibranch stalking the Tube Anemones for myself. I was fortunate to witness two attacks. The first was awesome. I sat and watched the nudibranch actually dive into the tube and get the anemon...

Re: Attention, All NWDC Members!!!
Austin,
Dude, my apologies but I got buried at work today. I cannot break away in time to hit Sound Rock, even for a late dive. I am going to try for something closer to Puyallup. Sorry about that.

Re: Attention, All NWDC Members!!!
I've been thinking about this, and I would like to join you guys. But here's what I'm thinking. I won't be able to get there until 5:30 or 6. Sounds like the rest of the group might be winding up by then (because it sounds like you have a long day of diving planned). So if bucknacked or anyone want...

Thanks Jim, it is tough to avoid over-exposing the shot with such a long shutter speed. Therefore, you need to take the picture dawn or evening. Or any of the gloomy days here

Re: Octopus Hole 2/25
NIce pics, Jesse. Or was that Chezzie? :smt064 (sorry, I couldn't help myself) :notworthy: What shutter/exposure settings did you have to go to for the wave-smoothed shots that day? They turned out great... Tripod, or just balance the camera on a handy rock? Jim Jim, Sorry for the delayed response....

Re: Fox Island - 3/3
I am game anytime, let's do it! I am sure Rob3 and Penders would join us too. Parking is limited so we may have to carpool. Can you dive from an SUV? I don't want to throw off your mojo.cardiver wrote:Great shots, Jesse! I'd love to do a night dive at WW soon.......

Fox Island - 3/3
Met up with Rob3, mpenders, and Charlie for Fox Island diving. Our first dive took us to Fox Island East Wall, and Penders timed this perfectly. We started with a slight current that nudged us north. This took us to a shallow slope toward the end of the wall. Once the current slacked and then turned...

Nice Thursday meet up and dive with Mike, Jeff, Ron, Rob, Tom, Keith, and Elise. Several divers went straight out and deep, current was kicking just a bit. Mike and I walked to the house with the antlers and then dropped in at about 30'. We swam down to no mans land and then kicked agains the curren...

Re: Top photo subjects
Now I'm working at trying to photograph ancient Mayan bones that are found way back in the Underwater Caves of the Yucatan Peninsula . Taking a good photo of a pile of bones laying on the floor of a cave is challenging. I certainly have lots of "boring" bone photos. On my last trip I was ...

Very cool opportunity to cross that one off your list. I would agree that whale sharks would be pretty high on my list too!Grateful Diver wrote:I had always wanted to photograph a whale shark ... did that last month.
Not sure what else would be at the top of the list ...

Top photo subjects
I have been putting together a top 10-15 subjects I'd like to photograph in my lifetime. I'd love to hear what critters, wrecks, or scenes are at the top of others list. My top 3 are: mimic octopus, Pygmy seahorse (or any seahorse), and a hammerhead shark. I'd take a six-gill in place of the hammerh...
