Re: Best Diving in Canada?

Quadra Island. Awesome diving here, and I also have an old friend from my childhood that lives on the Island (In the little backeddy that faces copper bluff). Beautiful walls covered (and I mean covered) with life, and on the east side of the island there are non current sensitive sites that definit...

Re: Bad SCOTUS. : (

So if it was an OMEGA watch sold in a foreign country, then bought, and resold in the US, the copyright infringement here has everything to do with Omega wanting to control how the marketing of its products works, right? Seems like that is the price fixing scenario that was spoken of. If however the...

Re: Dive Buddies & Advice Needed - Jan 21-22

The water temp in january will probably be in the 40's. If there haven't been any huge rainstorms you should expect good diving. I usually have fridays off, we may be able to accompany you, have to check with the boss. Send a PM when it gets closer. Hoodsport n dive would be the best shop on the can...

If vespa made a version of this I could get my daughter interested in diving. This one is not so cool.

I wasn't pointing a finger at anyone. I agree that this was handled well. Perhaps I should have started another thread, I'm curious about the perception of a liability issue.

Re: No Good Deed...

I worked at the Trout Lake ranger station one winter, and I had the job of getting a bunch of people out of bed. There was this one guy, who warned me to "stay out of range". Actually he told me to grab the foot of his cot and pick it up and dump him. EVERY TIME I woke him up he was swingi...

Re: Seriously Annoyed....

Mistakes happen. I know Waynne is a good man, and so is Craig. Its tough to own up when you make a mistake, and take a tough guy to do it. I know I have had a discussion with Waynne about my donuts being in the valves, and took em out and filled em up right, which is perfect. Still I wonder, if ther...

Re: Seriously Annoyed....

Back to the original topic, maybe some of you who are more familiar with liability issues can chime in here. It seems to me that if I bring in a cylinder for a fill, and it is rated for 3442 psi there would be no issue for a shop putting that pressure in it regardless of whether the insert for a yok...

There was a buoy on the pinnacle that is north of pleasant harbor, when I was there. If I remember correctly the top of the rock was about 25fsw. Awesome dive.

Re: A Thank You to our Instructors

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I am also very thankful for the quality instruction I have received. I hope to never witness a death diving, and I hope that if I am able to recognize a diver who is too rusty, or poorly trained to be safe, I will be able to help in some way, to prevent a tragedy.

Re: Wetsuit Advice for a new diver

Personally, if I couldn't afford a dry suit I would lean towards a semi dry suit. You want it to be thicker than 7mm around your torso, 7mm on your arms to allow movement. Attached hood allows less water movement in and out which equals warmer. But really... you could probably find a used drysuit fo...

Re: Dog shooting in Des Moines

Richard, I am glad to hear that your club is putting together some resources for them to use in training. There are a lot of dog lovers who I'm sure, given the opportunity would like to help make sure issues like this have a better outcome. Our society tends to react to things like this in a way tha...

Re: Dog shooting in Des Moines

Reading into this story a little also uncovers that the neighbor acted as though he didnt know who's dog it was. Well this screams animosity to me? Maybe even has me question the dog owners a little Is this dog kept outside to bark leaving the neighbors to resent the dog and act as they did when th...

Re: Dog shooting in Des Moines

Here is another view, a mistake or accident that let the dog out don't equal a execution for the dog, ever. Dog gets out. Dog runs in traffic. Dog gets hit by vehicle. Difference? The difference is, that is an accident. Pure and simple. You don't have some one trying to use a catchpole that hasn't ...
