Re: I'm back! And I'm hiring!

Yeah, I made one trip down to Perch Lake and the Blue Hole with the LDS here (Denver Divers). They're super nice folks - actually, it's a great dive shop, and they do the best that they can for what they have to work with, in regards to training... no real tech stuff, although they have a few o/c t...

Re: Need expert advice...that's YOU guys!!

I recommend shooting without strobes for awhile before adding them too. As Cardiver said, there's lots to learn and you can do a lot with the internal flash. You'll make a more informed choice if you add strobes down the road. OK, good point. I guess my thinking is colored from the wimpy effect int...

Re: Need expert advice...that's YOU guys!!

Hi Girldiver - I am also part of your demographic... I'm a fairly competent dry-conditions (out of the water :-) ) photographer, primarily with my Pentax DSL (for which no-one makes a housing, alas...), but for diving I am looking for a simple rig I can use locally *and* take on vacations (I'm plann...

Well, apparently Wally is alergic to penicillin and almost ended up in the hospital. :( Glad he's on the mend, and wow - what a scare! Keith can you pick up my tanks? They are paid for.... Thanks! Ouch - also explains why the phone went to answering machine on my drysuit inquiry (re-glueing a coupl...

WTB - HP steel 100 tank(s), weights

Hey everybody... I've gotten one more step down the path of picking my own "stuff" with a new drysuit (Bare D6). Now I'm looking for a couple of steel 100s to add to the collection. It's what I have used in all but 1 of my dives so far, and I'm getting used to the weights and buoyancy char...

Re: drysuit, and BCD for buoyancy?

The ankle weights are a good investment ... when you get to the point where you decide you want to dive doubles you can cut the buckles off and they will make a nice 6# channel weight ... ... Bob (Grateful Diver) I have been kind of feet-heavy the last couple of dives with the new drysuit, so on Sa...

Yes it was - first run on my new Bare D6 :partydance: It's back in the shop for Wally to put the pockets & wrist rings on, but it did the important bits - kept the water outside and the warm inside :supz:

Congrats - I got to see my first Octo this last weekend too, at Sund Rock (dives #8,9)... :supz: Two nice big fellas, up at fairly shallow depths in daylight (due to low O2 levels I would imagine), one hanging out on the side of a rock and the other underneath an overhang in the hull of a wrecked bo...

(well, *that's* not the world's most satisfying dive report, was it?!?) Question is: Would you still have jumped in the water even with 3 other divers calling it in if you didn't have a problem with your zippper? My gut feeling tells me that you would have heeded to the forewarning and called it in...

Re: Monday 12th

Should be an interesting dive with those tides tomorrow. Well, hopefully the time will get us in and back out when the currents are low enough to not be a problem. If not, I suppose we can go from piling to piling and work our way home, or dump all our air and crawl back in... One way or the other,...
