Tuesday 5/18

Anybody know of opportunities to dive at Alki, Edmonds or Mukilteo (or somewhere in between) after work on Tuesday 5/18, at say, 6-7pm or so?

Saturday and Sunday diving

Hey, anyone doing or interested in doing some shore diving this weekend that I might be able to join up with? I'm looking for something on Sat and/or Sunday. The only times I cannot make are between 10am-12pm on Sat and 1pm-5pm on Sunday, but otherwise am free to dive away! I'm coming from Bellevue,...

Gas Reserve when using doubles

In open water class, etc. people are always told to "surface with at least 500 psi", what about when using a two-tank setup? 500 psi is, in reality, twice as much gas, right? So, for example on a SINGLE HP120 (with 3442psi working pressure) 500 psi remaining would be ~17 cu ft [(500psi / 3...

Advice for a noob

I'm interested in getting doubles, and a bit confused about what would best suit me. Yes, I'm taking an intro to tec class and have good instructor(s) to ask things like this, but I'm wanting to be extra cautious and get a number of various opinions, so I don't find myself in a situation in a year o...

Re: How to get a good fill

Ok, it was answered off this thread, primarily a lack of understanding on my part. The issue is yoke can only handle 3000psi (3000 or 3300 I'm still not sure). My [yoke] first stage does indeed say "3000 psi" on it. Looks like DIN is the way to get the full capacity out of my HP120 tanks.

Re: How to get a good fill

They are Nitrox fills so I always check it before leaving the shop at room temperature. I've only seen them at 3442 or higher once or twice ever, hence my dumb question here. Yes these are HP120s and within NDL limits I have more than enough, it's just that I'm improving in my SAC and now I'm about ...

How to get a good fill

I have what seems like a stupid question, but, when I get my tanks filled what constitutes full versus a short fill? If my tank says "3442 psi service pressure" does it mean I'm getting ripped off if I leave the store with ~3200 in it? (Even after leaving it overnight to allow it to cool o...

Re: Monday Mukilteo Madness 2-22-10

I'd like to join for the 2nd dive. Does anyone ever do another dive [other than the pub] after the 6:30 dive? I just don't think I can get there by 4:30...

Edmonds, Mukilteo, or somewhere else would work. I'm not too picky as long as I'm diving and not being swept out to sea.

I'm looking for someone to dive with for 2 dives on Sat-01/16/10 or Sun-01/17/10. I've got my SSI Master Diver certification, have 59 dives, and coming from Seattle/Bellevue area. Anyone? Anyone?

Late Sunday dive(s)?

I have family obligations until 3pm Sunday/today/1-10-2010, anyone up for 1 or 2 dives starting around 1600-1630? Any site between about Redondo thru Mukilteo could probably work.

Sweet. Thanks, Bob. At 4:30 will you be splashing in the water or stepping out of your vehicle?

See you then, I'll bring my camera to try and 'catch' some lumpies myself.

Are there other locations (in addition to Edmonds UW Park) in the Puget Sound area where divers face a fine if diving solo?

New User: Me

Hello NWDC, At the suggestion of the one and only 'Grateful Diver' I joined this group. I tend to be a bit of a loner so it's often hard for me to find buddies to go diving with. I have already met up for a couple dives at Redondo with Mike Z, GutholmJ, and Pat; which worked better than my usual-jus...
