Racing Extinction screening @ SIFF 9/25

I don't know if anyone else made it out tonight, but there was a premiere screening of Racing Extinction, a new documentary from the makers of The Cove. It's a good explainer of the various ways humans are contributing to the sixth mass extinction event of Earth, with a strong focus on the illegal t...

Saturday dive somewhere?

It's last minute, but it's been too long since my last dive. Anywhere between Mukilteo and Redondo is fine by me. Flexible on time of day. Who's interested?

Re: saying good bye to a unique habitat.

Is there anyone we can contact at WDFW or in Mukilteo to get some sort of replacement site going?

I would like to tag along. My vote is for Redondo. But yeah, 6:30 splash is difficult. Fairly certain I can be there by 6:30 though.

Re: saying good bye to a unique habitat.

This was one of my favorite dive sites too. I even mapped it out for my Divemaster course! Was very sad to hear this news.

Three Tree North Labor Day weekend

I can't make it during the week because of other obligations, but anyone interested in a dive over the holiday weekend to go look for the GPO nest?

ICYMI, I sent you a Dropbox link for the pictures you took with my camera by PM. (Finally...) Hi ScubaJess, DerekCs and I went tonight. Totally EPIC!! It was definitely one of my best dives ever... Seeing the octos try to swim up out of the den was so fun, we were cheering for them under water! On t...

Re: In Memoriam: Lynne Flaherty (LCF, TSandM)

I've known Peter now for a few years through Moss Bay, but I'm not sure I ever had the pleasure of meeting Lynne. I can only hope to leave a mark on the local dive community over the years anywhere near as positive as she did. My heart is broken for Peter and his family. My deepest condolences.

Re: Mating Opalescent Squid Sighting @ Redondo

Spent some time down there last evening. They're still down there by the thousands. Unfortunately, vis was on the order of 3-4 feet, because they're so shallow and the plankton was thick. Took about 170 pictures ... kept 18. These were the best of the bunch ... ... Bob (Grateful Diver) Yeah, I had ...

I saw several wasting stars at Redondo on Sunday. I'm forgetting what type they were, but they were pretty well wasted.

Mating Opalescent Squid Sighting @ Redondo

A stranger gave me the hot tip yesterday, so thought I'd pass it on. Redondo Beach. Go south (or left facing the water) down the beach past the fishing pier, out to this boxy townhouse with a flat roof. There's a house with a blue tarp on the roof a couple doors down. It's a good 5 minute walk in ge...

Edmonds on Sunday 6/21?

Slack high tide is 8:11 AM. Then it's a going to be a very low tide going well into the afternoon.

Anybody up for a dive (or 2) followed by brunch? Meet at 7:30, splash at 8?
