Not from the area......:D Oh, I'd say you’re close enough to the area to be counted in as local. (It's all relative ya know). Having raised some hockey kids, I'd say I have driven up there (many) more times than to Eastern Washington over the years. Ok, I guess that's a bad excuse. The truth is I r...

Wow, now I'm really excited about the up coming dives in WA. Nudibranchs are my favorite photo subject. I thought I've seen quite a few of them in different colors and a variety of Dorids, some Giant and Hooded Nudibranchs, but never come across any a Tritonia of any kind. Seen pictures of moon snai...

Not from the area, but if I could get certified as a Tech diver or able to afford a rebreather, I'd love to go :D

Nice photos Tom, the hooded nudibranch is beautiful.

White Sea Pen and Tritonia and moon snails, are they common in the area?

This dive site is particularly current-sensitive, and therefore some planning has to go into timing the dive to occur during a slack period. There are a couple of online dive sites that can be used for that purpose, but they base their predictions around when slack will occur at buoys ... typically...

Daniel was a friend of mine. He was an instructor of the dive shop which I got my training from. He's been certified as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer since 2004. I don't know how experienced that everyone considered it to be. But to me, it was a shock. I was supposed to do a training on the same...

Bob, those pictures are awesome. I've only seen wolf eels on one of my dives, and none yet for the octopus. I'll be thrilled to see some octopi on this trip. While I was reading sites descriptions on this board, most of them are described as tide/current sensitive. You also said the condition of you...

Ok, here's what's happening. I managed to get a buddy traveling down with me, but neither of us is familiar with sites or conditions in Puget Sound area. I tried to contact some local charters, Bandito is the only one going out on Sunday, but is fully booked with a class. We'll be leaving Vancouver ...

I think we've decided to do the Alki Pipeline on Sunday morning, weather permitting. When and where would you be meeting? We'd love to tag along. You don't really get much of those down here in the central Sound ... but there are several dive sites in the San Juan Islands where strawberry anemones ...

Nailer and I will be diving sometime this weekend, if you don't mind diving with a coupla CCR divers. \:D/ Actually, at the rate you're going with the training and diving, you could give him a run for his money! In fact, people with rebreather are my favorite buddies - longest bottom time, my air i...

Thanks Bob and Doug for the warm welcome :)

I haven't seen octopus or bucketstar underwater yet; cup coral and strawberry anemone are my favorite. Where would be the best place to find those?

Thanks,
G.

Tuwanek and Islet at Secret Bay are pretty good sites. Coopers Green, Ole's Cove, Martin Cove are shore dives in the area. If you're traveling further north, Quadra Island is my favorite. I'm planning to stay over the island for about a week around Christmas (21st - 28th). If you're coming up during...

Any suggestions on boat dives and charters? I'd love to see some bottoms covered with lives :)

Visiting Washington this weekend

Hi, I'm from Vancouver, BC, planning a dive trip to Washington this weekend, and looking for a buddy to show me around. I'm relatively new to diving, only started this April, but fell in love with it ever since. Logged about 75 dives, all in cold water; recently certified as a DM, with Altitude, Enr...
