Re: Two Step

Looks like you had fun there. Anytime in the water is good. I dove there a couple of days after Puako in Nov. I still have pictures I need to post. I still enjoy Puako better than two step, I think I like the structure and swim throughs better. Still it is hard to compare as they are totally diff. t...

Re: Netarts Bay

Netarts bay is extremely current sensitive. I've dove it probably 70 times. If there is exchange above 4 foot it is definatly a high slack dive. The channel itself is pretty narrow so when the bay emptys there is a lot of water moving. Let me know when you want to go, I'll be glad to show you. :boun...

Prodiver for me. Always very pleased with them. They are always the first at the crater in the morning. With just a six pack, it makes a good trip.

A couple of great dives, Eric, Scott, Jackson, Kim, and Jackson's friend ( sorry didn't get her name), a pleasure to dive with all of you. Probably some of the best island dives I've had. Very interesting with lots of swim throughs and caves. Here is a couple of pictures. PICT0001_edited.JPG PICT002...

Re: NEWPORT - 10/24/09!

It was the first time I dove the fingers. I think vis was probably typical 5-6 ft. Dove the 4th finger, macro life was pretty slim, but the normal stars and anenomes were there. Saw one ling about 2 ft and several small perch, greenling, and rocks.
Max depth 27 fsw, 55 degrees.

Re: NEWPORT - 10/24/09!

Netarts should be still divable, I've dove there in a howling hail starm with the water slopping out of the bay, and it was one of the best dives I have had there. I think I might still go and check out Newport. :partydance:

Re: Hagg lake

I live in Forest Grove and do all the electrical work for the dam. I have never dove it but know some who have. Pretty much a mud hole, vis 3-4 foot at most. A person could follow the road down the north side and see what could be found. Just past the turnoff to cross the dam is what is left of the ...

General visibility of 8 to 10 feet might be the reason that idea would never fly.
Yeh or less vis, Ive often thought that it could be done. Like maybe Netarts. Put an entry away from the dock and improve the underwater. Maybe some ropes, or headings, to follow to certain areas.

That said, I'm not going to subject her to my level of enthusiasm (4 dives a day, anyone?) And it's a family trip, as I said before, so there's going to be a fair amount of socializing and topside activities. The good thing about Prodiver, they are back in port by the time everybody else is finally ...

Re: Don't-miss shore dives on Maui?

Don't forget Prodiver Maui and B&B scuba if you end up Kihei way. Prodiver is always the first in Molokini in tyhe morning. They run only a six pack, sometimes with only four divers. They pride themselves with being dive valets. Divemaster Matt is orriginally from Puget Sound area. For dives, fi...
