Re: Great time at Edmonds today
John .. did Bethany try the fins I loaned you? And if so, did it help her floaty feet issue? Glad to have met the two of you Friday evening, and for being able to spend some time talking diving together ... ... Bob (Grateful Diver) She did use them. I asked her and the reply was that she was focuse...

Re: Great time at Edmonds today
I just sent you, Bob and Brian all emails thanking you for the experience. I know Beth and I had a wonderful time and cant wait to do it again. Hopefully we will have our basics down a little bit better, but as you know we all start somewhere. Now that I have a heated trailer and knowing what ~42* w...

Re: Diver Missing At Cove 2 (11am Today 2/19)
I know I am the new guy here but just a thought about civilian vs "pro/paid/job duty" (not sure the correct word to use) dive rescue team. They train together with certain expectations and procedures. I know there are a lot of divers out there that are way more experienced then some/many o...

Re: Beat this.....
It was a Lake Conconully and put on by Okanogan County SAR. There were folks from at least 3 counties and several agencies.
Of course it says "Fire Line Do Not Cross". As I said in my original post I did it for a class. We did not cross the line, we were inside it

Today, winter rescue class. 36*F water, ~16" ice ~14' deep 6-8' vis. Me on the right side in blue: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v510/nwcid/Other/DSC_0053.jpg So my first time diving in really cold water. Did a simple enter water, go to depth, look around, rise, look at under side ice sheet...

Re: Friday March 2rd dive.
OK so lets meet at Les Davis at 10am and how many tanks/dives? I have 4 tanks 2 HP 130's and 2 Hp 119's I can bring. :partydance: and now I go to nighty nighty :rawlings: Sounds like a good plan. I will be kicking this up again when it gets closer too. I live week by week as many do but a trip acro...

Its all good.
We were hoping to get wet about 10:00. If there are better times that is ok, but that is our goal.

Re: Friday March 2rd dive.
Thanks for the update. It does help some. We are dry siders so all things Ocean are pretty foreign to me. I will be learning though.
Based on the info I got in the other post I did list in my original post that Les Davis would be preferred for those reasons.

Re: Friday March 3rd dive.
I see all the info you listed but it is all jiberish to me. This is why we want to go with experienced divers. I have heard of the terms but have no idea what they mean in practical terms.

Friday March 2rd dive.
So originally I had planned on coming over to the west side on the 25th for a dive day, http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17450 I found out yesterday that is the only day my co-instructor can not get out of work so I have to be here for class. This means I have to pick a different da...

Re: New divers dive (Feb 25)
So after checking the sites it sounds like Les Davis would be a great site. Now it sound like the vis can be varied by weather conditions and tides. How far ahead of time will you be able to tell if it is going to be an issue? We each have an HP-100. We are diving wet so it will most likely just be ...

Re: New divers dive (Feb 25)
Sorry been getting our butts kicked at work. I guess I will have to look up those dive sites and make a choice from there. Hopefully tonight I will be able to do that.
Thanks for all the generous replies.

Re: New divers dive (Feb 25)
Only looking to go with experienced divers. Too many new factors for us to try it on our own. The 2 sites we dove on our own were in areas we are very familiar with. I will PM you if needed but hoping to keep it open and see if we can get a few folks if they are interested. I am open to going to any...

New divers dive (Feb 25)
Joined the site not too long ago, http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17054 but have not posted much yet. Been doing some reading but been busy with life stuff and not a lot of free time to read/post here more. We are 2 new divers from Eastern WA and are looking to get a dive in on the...

Re: To GoPro or not GoPro.... that is the question
I got a Gopro last week. Been thinking about one for a while and got a "pro deal" on one so it made the choice easy. Durring snowboarding on Saturday it preformed amazingly. I do need to play with settings and see what works best. Sunday we "dove" in the local 5' deep indoor pool...

Re: How much help do we need?
Thanks for the link Jeff. Again we do plan on doing a "lesson" dive soon. I think it would be more beneficial after another trip to the water first. Everyone has their own learning styles. For me I need some "teaching" then some trying time then "teaching" again, ect. F...

Re: How much help do we need?
I work in Yakima and live up by Colville. She lives in Nespelem. So we are a bit scattered but also get out a lot. Thanks for the link dewmercer but my new schedule for next year is Tuesday/Wednesday so very unlikely that would happen. Plus GF work M-F while school is in. Thanks for all the great re...

Re: How much help do we need?
Thank you guys so much. That was what I really wanted to know. I do similar things for folks with skills I have. I know formal training is always good and do plan on seeking more but I dont feel now is the time. Right now I feel we need to work on skills we have learned already before we jump to the...

How much help do we need?
Well as the title states I am trying to figure out how much help we need. I posted in the new member section the other day, http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17054 and a lot of the info is there. If you need more just let me know. We are new to diving and would like to do more soon. ...

Re: 2 new NE WA divers
Not going to happen this year but I have plans to buy a 24' enclosed tailer. I dont "camp" much but we do use the ATV's and do other outdoor activities quite a bit. So my plan is to use it for those times we do make overnight trips and better then staying in a tent and cheeper then a hotel...

Re: 2 new NE WA divers
Thanks for the replies. I look forward to doing some diving after the first of the year. Right now I am a "trainee" with ski patrol at http://www.ski49n.com/ but as a medic I am just challenging their course. I am getting ready to start teaching an EMT-B class that starts the second week o...

2 new NE WA divers
As it said we are 2 new divers living in NE WA. The GF and I are in our mid 30's and got our OW certs though http://www.atlantisaquatics.net/ in Spokane in October. I was on Scubaboards asking lots of questions and was suggested to sign up here too. Outside of our class we have only been diving two ...
