Alki fishing reef yesterday, 25-30ish. At one point, I could see surface waves from 55 feet.

Is when you come up from a dive covered in sea lettuce, eelgrass, and whatever else the tide brought in, missing only dressing.

Reading about the coelacanth was one of the first moments when I really started to become fascinated with the sea. This is really sad.

I saw one in 2012 at Saltwater State Park on a surface swim, back when I still had a snorkel.

Man, I miss that snorkel.

I'm noticing a bunch more opalescent nudibranchs. I see a lot of red gilled nudis and other types that look lile red gilled, but actual opalescents don't seem to be that common.

Nudibranchs probably have their own unrelated boom and bust cycles, but there ya go.

You also got a shot of a young yelloweye rockfish around 1:00 of the first video! That's really cool!
