Sund Rock - south & north wall
Ok dives at Sund Rock today. Viz varied by layers. 15+ feet below 50 feet. Saw six wolfies on the north wall. Pretty lethargic......low oxygen content we assume. Rock fish were in our face all the time on the north wall. South wall had few nudies. Nice group of sea whips around 60 fsw. Only one octo...

Jeeezzzzzz!......and to think that all of this started just because I asked my son to pick up my dry suit which just had a new zipper installed at Hood Sport n Dive.
Wonder what it would have been like if it had been my car from the repair shop?

Nice octos........
.....think crab number two was not trying to commit suicide, but just wanted to 'goose' the octo.

April 11, 2010 - Octopus Hole
6PM dive with MZ. Viz was pretty poor, only 2-4 feet down to 40 fsw, then 'opened up' to 6-8 feet down to 60 fsw. Worked the wall at 45-55 fsw. One octo tucked in, couple nudies, rock fish, one mass of ling cod eggs, but no parent about. 'Bear' is still there. Couple other picts of the dive. Typical...

trip/travel insurance????
Looking for best buy on trip/travel (interruption/cancellation-medical) insurance for travel outside of the USA.
I do have DAN preferred, but my wife does not dive.
Also, some trips are not dive related and looking for suggestions.

Yes, the name was added to the ship for the movie "Virus" and never removed.
If interested, various web sites with full history of the ship.

Re: Vandenberg - Key West, Florida
About Southpoint Divers: I had a very good experience with them. I did some research via Trip Advisor and others. A couple reports of not so good. Talked to a few locals and they recommended them. I had to rent gear as I only had my mask and regs. As I am OW only, I also had to 'hire' a dive guide f...

Vandenberg - Key West, Florida
Did a two tank dive on the Vandenberg yesterday. Weather was very unusual according to the boat captain. Calm seas and no current. Viz was 50'~ Quick history - Vandenberg was from WWII, then used for NASA, used in movie "Virus" and finally sunk in May 2009 as artificial reef about 5 miles ...
