Re: March came in like a lamb at Skyline
Oooh what a cute barnacle! Did Eric get any ok pics? Lets do it again soon since we should be safe from corona virus underwater. We can eat cinnamon rolls after 6 ft apart on our tailgates and pretend we are at the trainwreck

Re: Brand new to diving, new to board
Welcome! I live in Whatcom and work (and grew up) in Skagit. I also got certified to go diving in Belize, and haven't stopped since. Keystone and Rosario are great dives even for beginners when planned right, and driving down to Mulkiteo, Edmonds, and Seattle also isn't too bad. I'm going to guess t...

Re: Recent dive snaps for pie day!
Awesome pics all, and great idea Jess. I ate pie but didn't dive on Pie Day unfortunately. Hopefully it's not too late to add a few more random pictures since the world is a bit crazy at the moment.... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49660374631_cabd182563_w.jpg 3 Tree Anemone https://live.stati...

Incredible stuff! Those blue ringed octos and leafy sea dragons are amazing. It's cool to see someone posting about diving not at the GBR. Thanks for inspiring another bucket list dive trip.

March came in like a lamb at Skyline
After the last several weekends of chasing 25 year old Swedes around the slopes of Mt Baker, my poor old knees needed a break. Somehow the weather FINALLY cooperated and allowed for an early morning splash at Skyline. Scuba Jess and Yelloweye braved the early wakeup and drove up from Seattle to meet...

Re: Hornby Island Sea Lions 2020-01
Awesome pics Derek! I'm so glad you made it safe and got to dive in the snow. That sounds so freezing. I hope you had some kind of hot beverage :) Those guys look so fun and crazy! Was there any macro around or just Sea Lions and urchins? I’ve been to Hornby twice in May which is not sea lion time ...

Skyline 1/20/20 Nastiest Crabs Edition
This winter the overlords of the tides have blessed us with perfect weekend Skyline currents for a few months. Unfortunately the weather has been a bit more uncooperative but we were able to go for a dive on Sunday. The vis was maybe 10 ft, the cucumbers were not out feeding and it was absolutely fr...

Re: Bonaire, December 2019
I was referring to the flamingo pix. You see similar pix on the way to Lac Cai. But you can also see them way down south and some places way up north. Those look like south now that I look at them again. That picture was past Red Slave just north of the lighthouse. There were a lot down there. The ...

Re: best beginner camera? (looking @ G7x iii vs TG6)
Hi friends, I've recently graduated college and before going to graduate school for marine biology I want to get into underwater photography. Of course I'm on a budget. I want to mainly shoot macro but would like to be able to shoot quality video as well. Being on a tight budget, the 2 cameras I'm ...

Bonaire, December 2019
My wife and I were able to head back to Bonaire the second week of December for another visit to the shore diving capital of the world. We stayed at the Sand Dollar Resort, which has a Dive Friends shop on-site and Bari Reef as the house dive. The resort had it's own dive pier stocked with tanks, be...

There may be some New Years Eve diving also if anyone is planning on celebrating well into the evening and won’t be up for diving the next day. I can post more details on Monday. It will probably be mainland side between Redondo and Mulkiteo.

Whidbey Keyline Pie, 11/9/19
Last Saturday I got to take advantage of some special tides that allow for my favorite shore dive day in the sound. We headed out to Whidbey Island for two dives at Keystone, and then drove back to Anacortes for a dive at Skyline. Keystone of course was fantastic. The vis was good and the currents w...

Re: A Howe Sound Weekend
Glad you guys had fun! Hopefully Jess got her fill of squat lobsters. What other sites did you guys dive? Halkett Wall has cool topography for sure but is pretty meh for critters. The sites around Bowyer Island and all the cloud sponge sites are a lot more interesting. Jen T on the boat also?! Who w...

Keystone yesterday in the morning was a nice 20 to almost 30 ft depending on where you were. The pilings felt like swimming in an aquarium. Skyline in the afternoon was the usual hazy 10 to 15.

Fall in the sound
After a lot of diving and getting a new TG6 camera to play with in August, September ended up being mostly dry and lacking in any underwater action (due to work and vacation to the Oregon Coast). October luckily ended up being a little better. I was able to get wet a few times at 3 Tree, T Dock, Sky...

Happy hour at Skyline
Last Friday I got off early enough to get a dive in after work. My buddy didn't want to drive down south from Bellingham so I had to settle for Skyline. It's still no Cove 2 or T Dock but it will do in a pinch.... :stir: We had a nice slow drift in the waning slack tide on the way out, and wh...
