Rats. I'm trying to do the same thing, find a match for the Worthington HP100 that I already have (a lovely tank, as cylinders go).

I'm curious about the stone of that cave system-- at first it looked as though it was an ice cave. The rock is scalloped the same way as some ice bergs.

Re: Port Townsend
Kim and I are planning on diving Fri-Sun. Let's make it a dive party!
He doesn't know it yet but I may be pushing to do two dives each day. The currents look great. : )

Re: NITROX problems
As a 74 year old diver I'm well aware my body will not react like most test subjects and theories. So I try to increase my safety margins above what's recommended for the typical diver. That's why I'm concerned about the accuracy of the NITROX fills. I'm not there (74) yet, but I do share your conc...

Re: Port Townsend
Me! Me! I'll be diving those days. Also available this week for spontaneous diving... Like, slack tomorrow (Wednesday) is at 4pm. Probably too much of an exchange for diving Point Hudson but bottle hunting somewhere more in town (away from the point) should be doable. Would also be up for diving Edi...

Re: Could Have Been A Lot Worse
Glad you're okay! Good call on ending the dive. One lesson I've learned over and over again: most of my reg failures have happened immediately after servicing. Funny, that. I use a piece of thin bungee cord as a necklace for the octo. It's cheap, adjustable, works well, and can rip away easily in an...

Re: Shaw Island, July 9-13. Anybody?
I'm not sure if the end of Broken Point is accessible. I'd really love to dive the marine reserve at Point George, but again there my be access issues. If nothing else, I'll be staying at a beach cabin at Indian Cove. I figure I can just walk out into the water. Edit: I may not have Internet access ...

Shaw Island, July 9-13. Anybody?
I'll be staying on Shaw Island from the 9th-13th and would love to get a couple dives in. It's a remote place, so I know it's unlikely that I'll find a dive buddy there, but just in case... :eric: If you're going to be in the area (or have a boat and can drop by) please PM me or reply to this post. ...

There are now two signs on the bridge supports explicitly saying no scuba diving.
Well bummer. I'll add this site to my unhappy list of you-can't-dive-there-anymore places.

Re: Point Whitney, Brinnon, WA
This site grows on you. The first time I dove it I thought, meh. Vis is not always good. Dove it again yesterday and saw much more. Aside from the pipe, there's other stuff down there that's a magnet for sea life. Loads of fish, crabs, and smaller critters. Yesterday I found myself in a baitball of ...

Wow, so much cool stuff still being found. I love Cetacea's blob-top bottles [envy].
Found this today, an 1880's-90's medicine bottle in great shape. Just sitting there. And the usual assortment of clay pigeons.

Dive Clear Lake, OR, June 7-9ish
I'll be camping in central Oregon from roughly June 7th through the 9th (there's some slop in the schedule). I would love to get in a dive at Clear Lake. The best day would probably be Monday the 8th, but an afternoon dive on the 7th or a morning dive on the 9th might also be possible. Up for a dive...

Heck yeah! That is cool. If you dive with us on Thursday we see lumpies on almost every dive :) I'm in Colorado now but coming out this summer for a visit, June-July-ish. I will plan on being there! :) BTW, Tangfish-- Please reverse the sequence of your avatar gif. That poor dog is having his hair ...

My First Lumpsucker! But not in the PNW.
After all these years of diving in the NW, I have yet to see a lumpsucker.
But I just returned from diving in Iceland and -- well gee! -- there's lots there, and they grow BIG! This is a small one, only about 25cm.
