Re: Keystone Rockfish school

That is a lot of fish and really good visibility. So nice to see so many Black Rockfish. I remember a couple of years when they were first making their return appearance in the south sound. There are fairly large schools now at several south sound sites.

Re: Metal Detector

Very cool. Nice work you to. Way to go the extra mile Bishop to organize this and Richard for stepping up and joining in.

Not as much press as the fishing rod and reel off the dock at Cove 2, but, probably just as sentimental if not more for those involved.

You did good work, be proud of it.

Yikes!

What in the world are they thinking? You don't need a downrigger to fish in 50 feet of water.

Craziness, they must have been weaving in and out of the moored boats.

Glad you all came out of it ok.

Re: Help finding the reefs at Rockaway

If you stop in at the Local Dive Shop on the Island, and talk really nice to them, and maybe pick up a small gadget of some sort, they are likely to draw you a map of the site. At least they did when I was there. It is always a good idea to stop in at the LDS when going to a new area to get the most...

I met John and Tom on their surface interval and I can vouch for the fact that they both thoroughly enjoyed the first dive, they were giddy like a (fill in your own analogy here).

If you purchased it from an authorized dealer and registered it with Uwatec, they will likely take care of you. Call technical support and talk to them about it. They have always provided me with great service. They are no longer selling the SmartCom but they reserved a bunch of them for warranty re...

I was going to suggest that.

They work best if you dry the contacts off first (if after a dive) and then lick your fingers to make the contacts work.

Friday evening at Cove 2 was amazing. Could see all of the I Beams from one spot.

Sunday evening at Cove 2 only about half that of Friday. I think the difference may have been a weekend full of divers.

I have never been on the site, the GPS coordinates came from a different source. I know that the coordinates that were us...

Found: Weight and weight pocket

An instructor found a weight pouch with weight inside at Cove 3 Sunday, July 26 in the evening and passed the weights on to me to post and see if I could reunite it with the proper owner.

Let me know if you lost one and I will make arrangements to try to get them back to you.

Re: Isn't it about time for a NWDC club dive?

If you do Redondo on the 15th there will likely be a bunch of classes doing check-out dives. I think it was last year either August or maybe it was July that there was a NWDC dive on a similar weekend and it coincided with like 5 or 6 different open water classes and I counted something like 100 div...

Re: Looking for dive info on Lake Chelan

You probably won't see much, but, people do dive the lake. A great way to get the gear a nice rinse. Under the docks you may find some interesting treasures.

Be careful of the thermoclines and be prepared for the possibility of limited visibility, especially if you get into the muck on the bottom.

Amazing report. I can't wait to go.

July 2010, here we come. 384 days to go.

I will have to see if I can get in more dives than you did.

You know, I have a couple of spaces still available for my trip if you wanted to come along. PM me for details.
