Re: Seastars and Scientists at Keystone Jetty!

Laura,

I love the zip seal replacement. Especially what you use for lubricant. :)

Re: re-breathers

Hi Jeff, Thanks for the explanation. So, no blinking lights :) I love the part where you write, you dive as if it's trying to kill you. Eventually it will try. That's my favorite part. I think I am going to add it to my tag line. This was my understanding. They would be very cool to try. I am just s...

Yep and blown cells, back flow co2 (flapper failures), scrubber failure, water in the canister, injector failure open, injector failure closed, adv failure open, hypopxia, hyperoxia, controller failure, loss of O2, head failure, loop failure, etc. Etc, etc. All provide you with hours and hours of t...

Haha. Man, just what this site needed.... A little livening up. Josh, I'm surprised you took the time to type out a response. Me, too. Yeah wish you didn't waste your time, actually. No one implied you were doing anything wrong, but I will say you sound like an ass. If your interest was to take eve...

Drysuits, AGAIN

Ok, so I have been looking at drysuit, as the old timers know as I have brought this up before. My instructor has given me some pretty good advice so far on all kinds of things. He thinks that the Whites is a good drysuit. Here is my deciding factors. First I like the shell of the Essence, because i...

Re: re-breathers

So that when you are down nice and deep, when the rebreather fails (without any warning) you die. No thanks. Deep isn't for me anyway. And breathing without bubbles seems wrong. Do you fly in planes? Because when you're high up in the air and they fail without any warning, you die. I fly in planes ...

Re: re-breathers

Didn't mean to cause an issue by saying that, but I also haven't dove long/at all. Not ever plane that fails causes everyone on board to die either. I actually don't know much about rebreathing, but the way I have understood the argument against is that everything is fine until it isn't anymore, the...

Well I guess that's not true entirely. The drysuit I plan on purchasing has dry feet, just the gloves will be wet.

I have to say that when I read borrowing a cath I thought of catheder, as in a urine catheder. And although that would tend to endear you to someone, I am not sure about that as the best way....

Re: Does anyone have the UTD dry glove system?

I figured I would just dive without dry feet and hands. Does this make that big of a difference? I figure they will be numb eventually and I won't feel a thing. :)

So, what happen to yours? I am wondering how it stayed in HI without you. If it's because they didn't let it on the plane, or because you forgot it?

Actually, they will eat each other even if not dead. :) My brother is a master catcher of animals. In the 80s he caught me about 5 octo's out of a tide pool, before they were protected. I had two tanks at home, without fish. I placed two in one tank and three in the other. I soon had one large one i...
