Re: Pumpkin Carving!

I did my first one last year with Oregon City Scuba at Sunrise Motel in Hoodsport. It was tough but fun. Reminded me of being a kid in a pool trying to hold a ball under water.

Re: Best B.S. story you've heard

I can't wait to hear some of these stories. So far all the stories I have heard re either backed up by video or are easy to believe because they were not "amazing". If you know what I mean.

Re: Staying Warm!!!

I must be lucky. Everyone keeps bringing up dry gloves but to be honest I have often wondered why I bought mine. I never use them and my hands are always warm in my 5mm neoprene gloves. Maybe I am just plain weird or something. :calvin:

Re: SJI 8/31

Those last two shots are really cool too!!! We will definitely have to work something out some time. It sounds like my wife and I need some more time in the water before going to the SJI's. She has 15 dives and I have 27 so not quite there yet. No worries though, it will come with time. Thanks for ...

I talked to our club dive coordinator who is at Mike's Beach today. He said it opened up pretty good after 40' on the first dive.

I agree, those are some really cool pics. I showed them to my wife and said I want pic's like that of us. Awesome pic's!!!

How deep were you at on these dives? Only asking so I know if I am able to do this set of dives or if we need some more experience first.

Thanks,
Dave

Re: Staying Warm!!!

In the summer time I wear Under Armour (medium weight) and in the winter I wear the Thermal Fusion with a t-shirt and shorts. If I am getting cold in the winter I out on my Under Armour then my Fusion. I stay pretty toasty but then again I have a lot of natural padding....

Re: Getting drysuit experience advice

The key point there is "someone willing to work with you". I agree it's mostly experience, but you can have directed decent experience, or you can have a less effective time with someone that doesn't know how to work with you. The concept it not difficult, but then to ride a bike you simp...

Re: Getting drysuit experience advice

Not to discount what Dusty has said because I took the dry suit course and he is right, it is pretty simple stuff. BUT...If you ever go anywhere and need to rent a dry suit due to a failure of your own suit you will be out of luck without a DS card. I remember another member here who had a chance t...

Re: Steve's Scuba

Wrong storefront. Nw scuba in north of Powell on the west side of milwaukie ave between Powell and first cross street. Great shop run by Jesse and jonesie. The shop I referring to is on the south side of Powell in the same building that Subway is in. It is the dark red building on SE 23rd IIRC.

Hey all, I just posted this in the Oregon Forum section but you don't have to be from Oregon to take a look and join in if want too. "Hey everyone, welovecleanrivers.org is putting on a river clean up on the Clackamas River on September 7th. I will be posting about it on the Oregon Scuba Club ...

We Love Clean Rivers Project

Hey everyone, welovecleanrivers.org is putting on a river clean up on the Clackamas River on September 7th. I will be posting about it on the Oregon Scuba Club Facebook page today also. http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m272/whodini64/Daves%20Scuba%20Diving%20Pics/2014SquareImage_LowRes_zps57e5767...

Re: Steve's Scuba

Every time I have stopped by they are closed. My understanding is that Steve sold his shop to one of the guys he worked with and they opened up over on Powell. I have stopped by a few times to try and invite them to an Oregon Scuba Club meeting but they don't seem to ever be open. It's unfortunate,...

Almost zero difference among the dir types. Maybe it is the DIR types that are bashing my friend without knowing him? Not sure - were these friends of yours in the video? I can't see the video from my iPad. The only person I know in that production is Karl Anderson. I have never had the opportunity...

Re: cave diving in Oregon

I talked to Karl on Facebook last night. He said that the exploration was conducted in 2001/2002. I have no idea what cave diving or dive gear was like 14 years ago but it seems to me that there would be at least some difference from then to now. Anybody know?
