I've seen a few anemone's with these little extra growths scattered around them... they are attached. I don't know much about anemone spawning but i seem to remember these Urticina's to have seperate sexes (?)...

any ideas?

I don't know eggs at all... anyone know what these are?

from shallow, high energy areas... was told that greenling eggs look like oatmeal... could that be the way?

More great info Jan, My question is how do they know these things?? Do they put little ID badges on them and keep track? Never underestimate the persistence of academics, marine cement, or stainless steel tags :) seems like a really easy test to perform... find an aggreggation, tag a bunch, come ba...

Since you guys might be likely to enjoy some nudibranch trivia. When i did this dive my buddy was an academic studying nudibranches... after the dive i asked her about the behaviour, i never got an answer because that conversation got sidetracked when she said "oh, the watermelon dorids?"....

Here are some spots in the immediate Coos Bay area that i've dove more than a couple times. Coos Bay: (from N to S) Train Bridge near airport: needs clear water, lots of juv fish. boat dive Empire Boat Ramp: lots of crab and clams, surfperch, greenling, juv rockfish, many others- bottle hunting... u...

There are no real secrets to diving in Oregon. Find rocks, dive on them... the only "secret" is finding good conditions, for that you must be on top of the weather breaks. There are not places in Oregon where you can walk in 300 days of the year and expect safe conditions... we get ~10 day...

Jordan, the watermark issue is definitely a tough one to think about. A small bit of advice if that is your concern though... you posted a 3 mb photo. Anyone with 5 minutes of time and some rudementery knowledge of photoshop could take that photo, remove your name with simple PS tools, and resize it...

happens all the time to me. my favorite attached... was chasing one of the smallest scalyheads i've tried to track down... . scalyhead was probably an inch long. Looked at the photo's afterward, not unexpectedly he was out of focus, but in the frame was the smallest cabezon and a very small hermissa...

Found this fish in the same place (but more than a year later)... looked similar... and SMALL!!!

Well they are very small and terribly well camoflauged... hard to believe i saw them at all... Anyway, it seems that they remind me of something like a tear drop crab (or something like that)... The thing that threw me off was that i found them in an estuary, but also found an RIL in the estuary rec...

Looking through old photo's i was hoping finally i may have found a sculpin that is not a scalyhead or buffalo.

Any ideas...
