Re: Distressed diver pulled from Edmonds U.P
there was also an 'accident' at Redondo this morning. A guy was walking up the stairs after the dive and dropped from a heart attack. Not sure if he made it or not...we got there after they took him away, but the police were still there getting his van. Not a good way to start the new year!!! No, I...

Re: How many dives did you do in 2009?
I got OW certified at the beginning of May, and I did 78 dives in 2009. (I thought I was closer to 100--dammit!) But really, not bad for my first year . . .

Slacker.
I'll still be there! Nick is also going, and Derrick is going to try to make it. Don't know about Aaron.

Re: Hello Everyone
Welcome Greg! Yes, I'm sure Bassman will chime in regarding Thursdays soon. I really need to join him on one of those . . . Tacoma Suba has fairly regular "shop dives" on Wednesday and Friday nights, but it's always best to call ahead and confirm. There's an active dive population in and o...

THANK YOU everyone for being so welcoming last night! Since my husband and friends couldn't make it, I was worried I'd feel like an orphan, but you guys were great. Special thank yous to Cardiver and Benoit for being my buddies and putting up with me mucking your pictures. Speaking of pics . . . any...

Ok, after scrolling up, I see that most of us are from the south, but whatever. :geek:ktb wrote:I love all of these people coming south to dive--YAY! I will be there with my husband, and I'm looking forward to putting some faces to screen names.
And yes, Benoit, I know I'm planning two dives.

Re: Hello Everyone
Thanks, but I'm already starting to get the moderated board vibe. Not that mods are inherently bad, it's just a little too arbitrary for me. Case in point, Rule 1 is kind of ambiguous to start with. I'll go back to lurking and reading. Thanks for the warm (and warning) messages though. Oh no, it's ...

Re: So, my buddy is a diabetic...
My thinking is, if you should be wearing a medical ID bracelet, then I should know about it. But then again, I also hope my buddies disclose *anything* that might hinder the dive, such as me telling my buddy last week, "It's my first night dive with this camera set-up." But--as a new diver...

Re: Redondo, 12/26/09
Just wondering . . . are the PSL's only around for a certain amount of time? Do they have a short life span, do they migrate, are they just harder and harder to spot, are they eaten by other life . . . in other words, why are we seeing them now but I hadn't heard of them until a few weeks ago?

Re: Redondo, 12/26/09
I dove last night at Redondo, hitting the water after 6:30 p.m. Viz was fantastic (better than my light could reach) but after going deep in the first part of the dive, we had a hard time finding the damn eelgrass beds because they were in a mere 4-6 feet of water. The tide was waaaaay out. But the ...

Looks like tomorrow morning might be a good time to head over there if things have "settled" after that sewage dump . . . Anyone have any reports?
