Just making sure I'm "normal"

I'm new to UW photography, so I'm just wondering . . . please tell me I'm not the only newbie that takes a TON of pics during a dive only to discover that maybe 1-3 turn out the way I want. However, the ones that do turn out seem to be pretty good. Now if I could just remember *exactly* what I did t...

I'm sorry I missed it! I woke up with a wicked headache and I'm just now getting up and around (note it's 11:45 a.m.) UGH.

Is this a scalyhead?

I finally get a decent shot of a sculpin (for a newbie uw photographer), and I'm not sure which one it is. I'm thinking scalyhead . . .?

Don't know if you'll see this before the morning, but I may try to make it. I hope someone will be willing to buddy with a new photographer who thinks everything is cool to shoot!

Re: Cool cave diving video featuring Lynne!!

It wasn't intended as such, but after review it did seem like an advertisement so the initial post was edited. I've spoken with the mods to ensure it's within bounds. FWIW, I didn't solicit the video's production - it was sent to me, and I wanted to share it. I apologize if it offended anyone. No w...

I'm shocked Wally hasn't said anything about this yet. I think all of the JJ delivery drivers in T-town know the Tacoma Scuba address by heart. It's a popular pre-dive ritual.

And I love the California one . . . I never remember the number.

Yeah, yeah, Defied. But this is from a guy who threw fries in the air to seagulls. Would you do a similar thing to an underwater creature?

And yes, I'm seriously asking.

Re: Making an Octopus Ink

I'm so torn on this. I grew up with a mom who is a natural resources management professor and I was taught to never interfere with wildlife. First, it can be dangerous (think bears, bison, elk, etc). Secondly, it's not natural and--as Bob mentioned--it can be teaching them the wrong habits (think re...

I love it when friends ask if I go scuba diving when it's raining. Uhhh . . . We were out at Les Davis one day in the rain and a group of divers in dry suits were complaining that they were going to get wet from the rain. They had just come in from their dive, which made the whole idea a little pec...

Bob--You must be brave. I touched the nickle-sized sucker of a fairly small octo yesterday that latched onto me and even the strength of that surprised me. I'm not sure I'd have the guts to touch one of those biggies . . .
