Re: FS Argon Fill Station
That jeff's old argon booster setup. I modeled mine after seeing his. Works pretty good but uses alot of drive gas once the supply gets down around 500psi esp if you are boosting to 3k in an AL6. His cylinder is slightly different size than mine but I need 2200psi in the drive tank to make 3K in th...

Re: FS Argon Fill Station
Air Driven. I only used it when the big bottle got down to about 1000 pounds. I dive with a lp 14 Argon tank and can get several dives out of 1000 lbs. I just use my hp tank after diving to drive the booster. Worked for me. I get a full T bottle for only $94.00 and it lasts a long time before I have...

FS Argon Fill Station
Here is a chance for you to own your own Argon Fill Station at home. I bought it from another board member 4 or 5 years ago. It has been great to have and been well worth it. But I no longer dive 50 dives a year and need more room for my new hobby, furniture making. It takes almost as many WU's (Woo...

Scott, I thought your boss, I mean your wife told you to get rid of 2 of the boats several years ago? You are as bad with boats as Doug is with tanks.

Nothing can be as bad as that. And people do not ask, once you know you are warped for life like Sounder.Sounder wrote:[

Re: the littlest dogfish
Great picture. Reminds me of the time I was working in the Open Sea's exhibit at the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Dog Fish had given birth to a bunch of babies. We had a hard time running them down to keep the other sharks from eating them.

Re: Boat question
Unless you know what you are doing, do not buy without a marine survey. I have had boats from 16' to 28' and learned the costly way. Fixing floors/engine beds or transoms is spendy. 19' is the min I woud take my family out in the sound in. Now granted my Scuba Kat is 16' but is is a soft bottom zodi...

I like DIN better, I have converted even my pony tanks to DIN. Don't forget when you buy a reg you get the converter for it. I bought both the DIN and Yoke for my regs. You may not be able to find one later and most warm water resorts only have yoke.

Laura took all the good one's. But one she mentioned and I learned a very scary hard way was "If your gut tells you no, then don't do it". I have always told my buddies, "Anyone can call a dive".

That kind of gets to me to.

Re: Any astronomy gurus out there?
I have a 15 year old 6"Celstron I bought from the OMSI story with about a half dozen of eye pieces. Love that scope but I moved off of a mountain top out in the country into the city and the background light is a pain. Great scope but kind of a pain to move. A 3" or 90 mm Mead would be a g...

They have had some very real tests in the past but that one was just to gross. Especially when at the beginning when it first came out of the Human analogs mouth. Loved it.

Very nice indeed! I love oak, such a nice warm colored wood. Did you also make the chair in the background of the middle picture? It' looks like it's made of oak too and of similar style. Great job! My wood working is mostly centered around guitars. Here's a link to some of my projects. http://s571...

Thanks everyone. It was fun to build. Nailer--or should I call you Josh.? I ran out of WWU's (Wood Working Units) after buying a new granite top Hybrid table saw, a 13 1/2" three blade two speed digital planer, and a joiner/planer. I so wanted to get a new Steel City Mortise but no go. All the ...

Non-Diving DIY
I know divers being such a diverse and creative group I thought it would be fun to have somewhere we can post our non-diving projects. I know we have a member that make amazing knives, but what else do you do when you are not diving? Here are pictures of my newest furniture project I finished Sunday...

For the new Pleasant Harbor ramp. Use to almost launch over the beach there. Even with a negative tide you can launch there, not like Tritan or Pt Whitney. Its my primary launch point on the Canal. I keep waiting for the pay station but 3 years and still no pay station.
