Re: Diving in Hoodsport this weekend (4/3-4/4)

Eric,

Thanks for the tip on the weight pockets, that looks like it could work well. I am thinking one of those on each side of my upper tank band would be perfect and it its too head heavy I can always move it to my lower band.

Re: Diving in Hoodsport this weekend (4/3-4/4)

Biodiversity_Guy, It was great meeting you. Glad you found the fish you were looking for :) We had some really nice dives. The first dive we did at low tide on North Wall has similar visibility to what you experienced about 5-10 feet throughout. Some nice life was found through the murk and I was ha...

Re: Netarts next week anyone?

Nemo, I'd love to get in to doing some more Oregon coast diving, but I'm not sure how my schedule is for next week. Are you thinking of diving during the week or on the weekend? I am up in Hoodsport this weekend and am planning on going to the South Beach Scuba night dive in Netarts on Saturday 4/18...

Re: Free Gas Planning and Management Discussion

Wow thanks Scott, that sounds great! :). I will keep an eye out for the discussion thread. As for the days / times, I am open to whatever works best for you. I live about 90 minutes south of Portland, but I have some work hour flexibility, so I can arrange to leave early on the class days if needed....

Re: Diving in Hoodsport this weekend (4/3-4/4)

Thanks for the tips and reports :). It looks like the Hoodsport & Dive website got updated today and they are reporting 15-20 foot visibility. Hopefully that holds through the weekend. BillZ, yeah I had a similar situation a month ago when I was up there. For most of our dives the visibility was...

Any Salem Dive Club members?

Hello everyone. My first post in the Oregon boards :thumb3d: . I was wondering if there is anyone here that is a member of the "Northwest Dive Club" based out of Salem Scuba ( http://www.salemscuba.com/nwdc.html ). I noticed that your monthly club meeting is tomorrow. I am coming up to Sal...

Diving in Hoodsport this weekend (4/3-4/4)

My friend and I are planning on diving in Hoodsport this weekend, so if you see a couple of bleary eyed Oregonians in a big red van please come over and say hello  . We will be leaving here on Friday afternoon and doing a few late night dives and then diving around Hoodsport on Saturday. I ...

Re: Free Gas Planning and Management Discussion

I'm jealous of all the great classes you guys seem to have going on up in Washington. This looks really interesting, but it is just to far to drive for me, especially on a weekday. Thanks to BDub providing everyone some great training, please let me know if you ever decide to do any classes in Orego...

Re: New to the club from Oregon

Selkie, Thanks for the heads up! I should be able make it out for that dive. Do you know if there are any other dives planned for earlier that day? If I am driving out from Corvallis it would be nice to do some other dives while I am in the area. I signed up for the South Beach Scuba newsletter, so ...

Re: New to the club from Oregon

Thank you for the welcomes Jen and Spatman :) As for the Oregon coast, I would love to hear any tips you have on places to dive or get clued in on any Oregon trips. Back when I was living in Forest Grove I did a boat dive with a local dive club to 3 Arch Rock. Crossing the bar was pretty hairy, but ...

New to the club from Oregon

Hello everyone :bye: I have been lurking around on the boards for a few weeks and I thought now would be a good time speak up and to say, "Hi". I haven't had a chance to dive with anyone on the board yet, but I have been following your adventures online. I am really glad to have came acros...
