Re: intro
Welcome If you ever want to do some Hood Canal dives let me know. Sounds great, thanks! I'm coming from Gig Harbor. What canal sites to do you like that are over this way? I normally launch my boat from Misery Point right outside Seabeck. From Gig Harbor its about a 40min drive. From there I can go...

Thanks Dale for the complement.deep diver wrote:Hey Don,
Your pictures look good... glad you had a great dive. What kind of camera did you get?
I picked up a Sealife DC1200 with strobe and wide angle( did not use the wide angle today ).
It was on closeout for half price.

GPO at Flagpole 1-18-14
Met up with KeithBoll today for a couple of dives at Flagpole and Elephant wall. This was the first dive with my new camera today. Dive one was at Flagpole. We were given a rare treat today, a GPO out in the open. I did find a pair of wolf eels on eggs but they were to far in the rocks to get a good...

Also, we are looking for funding to complete the final five mooring buoys in Puget Sound and Hood Canal. The locations are 3 in Hood Canal - Flagpole, Arrowhead, Black Point - 2 in Sound Sound at Dalco Wall. We lose the permits to install the buoys in May. Please consider donating to the project in...

A day in Discovery Bay
It was a wonderful day of diving on Discovery Bay. I met up with KeithBoll today for a couple of dive from my boat. The weather was great and the water was calm. Our 1st dive was at ED's Fault. If you have never dove this site you need to put it on your to-do list. I have dove there several times an...

I'm glad you guys were able to go and had some good dives.
Your pic of the Sea Angel looks pretty good to me considering it was only 3/8 of an inch long.

Re: Jan. 1st 2014
Let me try to answer what I know. As far as current go's only once I felt anything I had to work against. That was on a day with a 12' tide change at peak ebb. For Wednesday low tide is about 11am at a 7.1', high is at 3:30pm at 11.9'. current will not be an issue. Wind plays a bigger role. The fore...

Re: Umatilla Reef - Washington coast
Its get a little harry sometimes coming back from Cape Alava in the afternoon. if the marine forcast calls for swells over 6ft or wind waves over 3ft i dont even try it. This last weekend you could have done it in a 8ft row boat , it was that nice. I have found that the water conditions are a little...

Did you launch your boat out of Neah Bay? We did the east side of Tatoosh Sunday morning and had great vis - about 60- 70 ft below 30 feet.
Its only a 30min ride to Neah from there.
We almost dove Tatoosh Monday, I wish we would have now.

Umatilla Reef - Washington coast
Let me start by giving you the back story. 3 years ago I started fishing back out on the ocean Cape Alava\Umatilla reef. After spending a couple of days fishing and seeing the structure on the fish finder I thought "man would it be cool to see what is down there". There was one spot in par...
