Re: Newbie questions about gear
We just started diving a year ago so I understand how you feel. Nice thing is where you live there are lots of great people to help you out and let you try lots of different gear. Tanks. Go steel especially in the PNW. AL tanks are not lighter. A HP-100 and an AL80 are the same weight. The HP-100 is...

Misc gear (wings, STA, Pads)
We finally got new wings right before our upcoming AOW with Bob so selling off the stuff we were using. We are going to be on the coast a couple times this month so I am pricing at what I believe will be a quick sale. Will also be posting on CL. Both wings were used when we got them a year ago and w...

That has been up for a couple of months. Looked at it a few times but not ready to jump into scooters yet.

GF's kid wants to start diving in a year or two. Sounds like that might make a nice starter rig for him.

Monday 10-8 morning dive
GF and I are coming over for the first half of AOW with Bob this weekend. Beth has Monday off so we are not leaving till that afternoon and would like to get a morning dive or two in. I am sure we will be diving Redondo with Bob and would like to try somewhere else close. I see Saltwater park is in ...

Re: Lake CDA
I have tried all the links and emails. All dead.
We are still fairly new divers (40 dives) so heading to new sites would still it would be nice to tag along with someone that has been there before. Someone that can give us local input on the site and the dive.

Lake CDA
Last year while we were doing our OW class we were told about a fun November dive where the salmon spawn. I found a link with a little information on this dive, http://www.ilnwd.com/higginsBoatLaunch.html I have emailed them through the contact page twice now with no reply. Does anyone on here know ...

Re: Mikes Beach
Again thanks for the replies. Very helpful.
I am guessing there are 15 maybe 20 tops in the club. Based on the the people that usually come out to stuff I would say 4-6 might be going. Plus the GF and I if we decide to go. Again I will have more info this weekend when I get home.

Mikes Beach
So I got word our Dive Club is planning a dive to Mikes Beach in October. I got online and read some reviews on the place and all seem quite bad. From condition of the place to the way people were treated. Many said it was better to pay for the diving there and stay elsewhere. Not sure if we are abl...

Re: Good deal?
Online it looks like the main top/bottom are $300. Was going to offer $200 shipped. Not in a hurry for new stuff but know I will need it. Would hate to miss out if there was a good deal. I have heard great things about both. Do you know what the cost of a comparable Weezle is and where to get them?

Good deal?
With my new drysuit I am going to need heavier layers then what I have now. I know Weezles are awesome but but is this a good deal? http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/classi ... -base.html

Re: Transfil whip
Thanks for all the replies. Yes the only use I see for it right now is to get 3 dives with 2 HP-130's when diving with guys that use 3 AL80's. I just placed an order with DRIS that left me with almost enough points for a whip. Arctic Diver shoot me a PM if you want to get rid of it. Pensacoladiver I...

Re: Transfil whip
I am curious what you feel you need a transfill whip for though? I have one, never use it in the field. As I have said not sure it is something I need. Right now the only possible use I think I would have for it is equalizing my HP-130's when diving with folks using AL-80's (most the folks we dive ...

Transfil whip
Still not sure if I need or want one yet but ben thinking about it. I see several different styles. I will want DIN for sure and have our own Yoke adapters if needed. The big things seems to be with or without a gauge. To me if you are equaling out the pressure there is no point for a gauge. But sin...

Re: Traveling with a back plate and wings
When we were researching who to go with all listed about the same rates. Most seemed to be about $7/day for weights x 2 of us and we dove 5 days. So that comes out to $70 so my number was a bit high. We ened up gong with Kona Diving Company for renting tanks (after we decided to take our own weights...

Re: Traveling with a back plate and wings
We took ours a few months ago. We each have a bag that holds all of our gear nicely that we use as dive bags and then packed clothes around them. We had all our stuff in there even though I know people dont like to put their regs and computers in there. At the time our computers were on consoles. No...

Trade HP-130 for HP-100
I just got an extra HP-130 in a package deal. I already have 3 HP-130's but only 2 HP-100's for the GF so looking to trade so I can 3 of each tank. I have not picked up the tank yet as I live on the other side of the state. I know the tank is an 2005 with Pro valve and current VIS. Hydro was done Ju...

Re: Undergarment questions
Thanks for the replies.
I will look at a Weezle. I would have sooner but I know I didnt have enough extra room in my old suit for much more then I had. Now that I just dumped $$$ on tanks and the new suit it will be a little bit before I can look at a new garment.

Re: Undergarment questions
Thank you for the replies. I will look at Bare's chart.
I dont know if I am cold or not, I have not got the suit yet (not for a month till I make it over to get it). I am not looking for what is the best or even a new garment now, I am looking how it might compare to what I have now.

Re: Undergarment questions
I had planned on layering. Was just wondering how it might compare.
While I have heard of Weezle did you not see the part where I spent my $$$ on a new suit. At some point I will try to upgrade but not in it right now since I also bought 2 HP-130's he also had.

Undergarment questions
So right now I am diving an older Whites Bi-lam dry suit with what I would call a medium weight fleece liner. A thicker one came with the suit but had shrunk in the wash and does not fit me. I have been wearing thermal poly-pro under that and have been warm enough. When we have done double dives in ...

Did someone say guns? You should come visit us over here, http://www.northwestfirearms.com/forum.php
I have the same forum name.
If I was ready to go doubles I would be in but I think I am still at least a year out on that.
