uneventful day on hood canal

Met up with Keith today in 30* weather to dive flagpole and elephant wall. There wasn't much to see today, one new octopus that moved into the den of the octopus that we had been watching while she was sitting on eggs. The egg casings were scattered around outside of the den. Hopefully the babies ma...

Re: suckers galore

Thanks everyone! We went far north at flagpole, we had never been that far before and actually found a sunken boat trailer out there and a sea whip garden and a few other trinkets

suckers galore

Met up with Keith on Sunday in the nasty weather. Wasn't bad at first with a little wind and some rain and between dives the sun came out and the wind had died down. On the second dive we noticed that it was getting dark under the water. When we came up the sun was gone and we were completely socked...

hood canal

Sunday on the canal the weather was cold, the coldest air temperature was 21* extremely fogged in most of the day making it feel even colder with no sun at all. Had to jump in the water to get warm. Great for a boat ride as the surface was just a few ripples. Water looked pretty murky on the way dow...

Re: New Fins

Sorry to hear about the smash and grab, deep diver. Grrrrr. Maybe let us know what brand/model gear was stolen so folks here can keep an eye out for it on Craigslist?[/quote]

Keith is planning to post as soon as he gets a list going. Horrible, 5am and only gone for a few minutes. Creeps!

Was going to dive yesterday, but Keith's camera was a victim of smash and grab while he went in for coffee yesterday morning

Re: New Fins

Hi Jess, I've been using the mares power plana for years although I have upgraded to the new style that they have available now. They are a little heavier fin, extremely fast and strong for flutter kicks. They work better than anything else I've tried for frog kicks. For backing and turns it takes l...

Found some things today at Triton Point. Nothing that is probably of any value after all these years, latest date is the id expired 2008 but would really like to know if this has all been underwater for that many years??

sund rock

today Keith and I went to Sund rock as my fuel pump went out on my boat. Looked like a great day on the water but the first dive the vis was pretty bad from surface all the way down to 120'. Second dive it cleared nice past 40'. We went to the cloud sponge on both dives as we didn't figure we would ...

Re: Flagpole Update

Yes, it has been gone a couple of months. It was sitting up on the beach between Mike's and the point. I turned it in too so hopefully with another report they will get it replaced.
It's still easy to find if you are familiar with the site.

Yes, the vis was very strange. Can never figure it out.
Here is our friendly little warbonnet and one of the healthy sun stars that seem to be making a come back.

It was real sad to see how the wolf eel was suffering
